More Rain And its Raining Now.

What a lovely surprise when I went out to the Garden this morning apart from being so wet.

We got 44mm of that beautiful liquid in two very short showers late yesterday and this is what I found.

My First Rain Lily "Zephyranthes ? "

The Single Gerbera's close by were looking a little soaked and very droopy but I bet they enjoyed the rain.

Pink Gerbera:

Not many roses left now but heaps of new growth and buds coming on.

A wet Iceberg:

So many different Agapanthus are out these ones are more of a Lilac colour.

Aggies under the big Gum tree:

Even the Natives still have a few flowers on them:

All of the plants are enjoying this beautiful rain, me too it great to see the grass so green

Lovely lot of flowers and the plants do look grateful for the rain. We have a a drop or too, much needed to save using the hose.

More great photos.

I used to have Zephyranthes but left them at my last place, they were hard to keep under control but are very pretty after the rain. Aggies always put on a great display, mine are just finishing so time for their heads to come off. Gerberas always put on a good display but mine don't seem to be doing as well at the moment, probably too much humidity. I bet the birds love the grevilleas and the rose is pretty too.

Dry rootballs are often the result of textural differences between the soilless potting medium or claylike field soil the plants came from the nursery in and the soil on the new site. If the rest of the bed was moist with the heucheras only being dry then it was something like that - something involving the heucheras specifically - and not the overall conditions. This should have been apparent when these were dug and pulled apart(?) but heucheras specifically are prone to weevil larvae gnawing the roots off and leaving a sort of nearly rootless husk sitting on top of the ground, unable to keep itself turgid without diligent watering - and maybe not even then. The same thing is common here with primroses.

well i picked the pod from the 7 pot brown and 1 guy backed out on the taste test so me and the other guy halved it ...... had a real good fruity flavor then a few seconds later the heat was quite intense my buddy starting using his Tea as mouth wash ... lol first it hit the back of the throat then moved to the top of the tongue seemed a bit hotter then the 7 pot reds i have tried . will have to run a few more test i will let the next ripe one sit on the plant for a couple weeks to build up more heat

Dee, I hope I can reassure you. Here in PSL we are VERY fortunate and things ARE improving. There is still some standing water but for the most part it's receding. Only a few roads are left blocked, most businesses are back up and running, and it's back to life as usual. If you want to send me a message through my page with the area she lives in or some nearby cross-streets, I can let you know how it's faring, if you like. A little north of us, on the other hand, is probably far worse off. I heard that Melbourne/Palm Bay got TWENTY SIX inches of rain - and a twister. I've kept ya'll in my prayers and I'm glad to see a few of you reporting in. april

Fabulous pics as always. Wish we could get some of the rain here. I have never lived anywhere as dry as this place. Only 10ml in the last 4-5 months. No water restrictions in place and we have a bore, but the days are so hot it's a waste of time watering after about 8.00am.

We've also received some good rain, but could do with some more. It does make for some nice photo ops too. :-)
