We can only dream of rain here in South Texas. In the last few days we have heard thunder in the distance and I could even smell rain one evening, but it never got here.

Here too Patti. We got 1.57" so far today. It started here about 5:00AM.
Poor Nate is having his 17th birthday party at the river today. I hope it does rain much more, as it is an over night thing if they want to camp out.

Maryann, at least it was close enough to smell. We had two occasions of high gusty winds but all the rain was too far to the north too smell. Bummer. I'm hoping that September will bring rain. Back in the day, when school started after Labor Day, it always rained on the first day of school. (I can dream, can't I?)

I'll take your weather, Pawprints. I'd love to have those 60's at night--some 80+ degree days wouldn't be bad either.

We have also had the rains this summer - but it has been very cool also. The crops were looking great, but behind due to the cool temps. This could reduce the yields quite a bit.

Then we got hit with some major hail last weekend. Ouch! We didn't have any buildings damaged - but major crop damage. Guess things were looking too good. Luckey we didn't have the building damaged that some did though. Lots of broken windows and siding damage in some areas close to us.

patti43, our evening time temps are great! A/C off and windows open at 9pm.

Saw on the news last night about the awful floods in Thailand. They had 80 inches over the weekend!!!!!!

I'm near Chicago. We have the dryest July-August since the Dust Bowl days. This, after a spring so rainy the farmers couldn't plant until very late.

Glad we have a sprinkler system right around the house, but I've had to drag the garden hose over the 'back 40'. (That's a joke, folks. Our lot is only one acre.)

lol...chisue...i said that to a nurse the other day and she looked at me with blank stare...she had no idea what it meant...guess she'd been raised in the city her entire life...so have i, lol....

My part of southern colorado is dry. Have to water at least the flowers every day. Temps in the 90's, hopefully to cool to the 80's for the next few days, maybe some rain in the evenings, but don't count on it being much. Patti, send me some rain!

Well, we did have 3 days of summer then back to rain, fog, and yucky weather. ND

We got another 1.16" last night. Two day total of 2.73". I wish there was a way to share with those who need it. It's standing in my back yard. And those idiots mowed yesterday. Water was flying as they mowed. They left ruts in the lawn. I couldn't believe it.
One good thing, I got some rain water for my indoor plants.
