I didn't want to put too many pictures on one message.

Calliandra polandii, gold tipped bottlebrush, just coming out with another flush of flowers.

The tibouchina alstonville still has a few flowers on it

My dark red dahlia, which would go well with MM's white one, sorry about picture quality.

And last but not least a variegated shell ginger that has just about finished flowering.

I find you can put a few pics on if they are small Kbs, Yours are, mine always are but when some of our menbers put on these huge ones and lots of them that take forever to download on Broadband it must be a nightmare for the people on Dial Up. I think the top one is a Callistemon as I have a similar gold tipped one.

Thats Tibouchina looks lovely, dont you think they are a pretty colour, and yes that dark red Dahlia would look super next to my white one, it was damaged by that storm a few nights ago so I have all the flowers in a vase. Nice colours in that Variegated Ginger..Great Pics ....Cheers..MM.

Some trees in the background of these pics are red oaks, they are in a row, like behind the Beech, behind the 7 yr inground Burr oak in my other post of pics from my yard. They are either N R Oak or Nuttall's, maybe Shumard's. I have a row of Q. Bicolor near my property line also. More than likely these trees weren't noticed, if I didn't point them out.

Hehe, Laura and Mike..You know what, I did a search and I think someone else is also named Beachplant, funny that I was allowed to register as beachplants. So multi plants is from SA! LOL Mama, yes I am native, but I think we all take our surroundings for granted after a while, I used to get excited to see the dolphins going past, but its become a regular occurrence, now I notice when we do not see them for a few days. I do LOVE nature and get an urge to spend time in nature (drug for the soul) every now and then, which I need to satisfy - if that makes sense. I feel much calmer if I have been out and about for a bit. Rian

Your hostas look so nice. Especially Hope. My little baby struggled to come back this year, and is doing okay in a pot, but hasn't grown a whole lot. Hopefully it put out a bunch of roots and will be bigger next year. I love the pergola garden. That's so awesome! My boyfriend tore down the back porch roof yesterday and I was thinking of doing something similar to this over the porch, to let in some light but still keep the shade. Plus it'll look nicer than a plain old roof. I may have to show him this photo, and perhaps next year redo and expand the back porch into a patio and put a pergola-like roof over it, or at least part of it. Karen

Thanks so much, I try to take photos of them in the early morning when it is too cool for them to fly away, it works most of the time. The camera I use for my butterfly shots is the first digital camera I ever bought, an Olympus 3000. I do love it but need to get a faster one now. I keep looking to find a newer version that would take just as good of macros as my older Olympus. I think I am wearing this one out. I know I am of the memory cards, smart media, they don't sell them in stores anymore, I have to buy them on Ebay.

Sorry to hear about the dahlias, MM, at least they will come back.

We have a few of those callistemons, luckily because we are going to have to take this one and another one out but we will put another couple in a better area. We planted them shortly after we moved here but have since changed the garden design so have to move a few plants that have grown too big for that area, will also get too shaded for them soon.
