Of cause can't not show Seduction{{gwi:2115569}}
Lastly Burgandy Iceburg{{gwi:2115570}}
how lovely to have roses in my garden again enjoy

Looking good Jan all of them " Julia's Rose " especially.
And of course Seduction another favourite of mine
Black Velvet certainly looks just like velvet
The Burgandy Iceberg is a lot lighter than I though it would be
All very pretty roses it lovely to see yours at last looking forward to many more.

Thanks Diana for the details. I assumed that Gemini should be good - so many forumeres spoke highly of this rose. Mine is on fortuniana (Merrygrow sale, last year). You know, Pristine was stingy for me, too till it was in full sun. It wasn't a very tall plant either. We moved it about three years ago into a morning sun-afternoon shade spot because I needed some pastels between the reds so they wouldn't clash. To my surprise this rose has become a huge plant and blooms all the time - provided I can keep up with dead heading otherwise it develops huge hips.

So I went and compared leaf sets. My eye is not trained enough to see a difference between leaves. However, what is glaringly different between the two is that his canes and branches have very few, but large thorns. My canes and branches have smaller, sharper thorns but are COVERED in them like hair. On his branches you can pinch a branch between the thorns without getting poked. On my branches it is impossible the find any bit of branch to pinch between your fingers that would not poke you with multiple small sharp thorns. Does this signify that I actually have a DIFFERENT rose tree that propagated off his root stock instead of the actual rose I see blossom in my neighbor's yard?

vaporvac totally agree although I did loose 2 our of 3 of my velvet fragrance roses even after 5 years. They were small cuttings at first, got fairly big then after the deer pruning them constantly they eventually died off. Only one left, its been over 10 years and the poor thing is still struggling. If its targeted it will have a bad year, if its left half way alone it can do alright. Having a new dog helps a little but not alot

Very pretty indeed.
MM my Burgundy iceberg is more Burgundy than that, but who knows cameras and light often change the natural look. It also goes a lot more burgundy with age....looks like a pretty newly opened bud.

Jan could you post a pic of the Iceberg when it is a darker colour please.
