All the daylilies are lovely. I especially like that last yellow and the last red. And heck, you have a long way to go before things get out of hand if you only planted 12 new daylilies lol! We are all daylily obsessed here on this forum.

Looks like your plans worked out pefectly, three days of daylily orders and three days of planting. I hope they all bloom for you this summer and clump up nicely. Love daylily bloom season! Glad to hear your iris should start soon, mine started this week. Honestly at least as many people grow and are crazy about iris as grow and are crazy about daylilies. I can't figgure out why the iris forum isn't as busy as this one is :-((

Back alot earlier today as the tours were pretty local here to central Nassau County and I did not have to drive to the end of the world, or more accurately, to the end of Long Island, to see them. I have alot of work to do as I did none of it yesterday and I was already behind on my work from Friday so I might get them up late tonight but more realisticly, I would get the pictures up tomorrow. We will see how much I get done in afew hours so I can go back to play time. I had a marvelous time today, even better than yesterday, probably because more of our club members were at todays round of gardens than were at yesterdays round of gardens so there was even more socializing for me today than yesterday. Lots of people didn't want to drive out that far or were otherwise committed or busy yesterday. And of couse those with tour gardens today were busy in their own gardens sprucing up and doing all that deadheading and liveheading for the garden tour. I also didn't have to start out as early, which helps lots because I am not an early morning person and one early morning start for the weekend was enough for me. Today's gardens were just as marvelous as yesterdays so all in all, it has been a fabulous weekend.

I have just dragged myself back inside for the day. I am absolutely shot. Can barely drag myself around. At least it has been a very productive few days and my projects are moving forward. Cindy, I will deffinatly take pictures and post them. I really think (I hope for sure) that those daylilies will hold that slope. I tried to space them really cose for the hill holding effect but still I had to leave some room because I don't want them to grow together. After I finish I plan to put something between the rows also to break up any idea of the rain to wash too much. Either that green edging you get at Home Depot or a row of bricks. Or maybe a combo of the two. I will set the bricks down some and then mulch on top of the entire thing. Will take pictures as I go along. I have thought this entire thing out before I starting anything. Right now the hill will not wash out because the grass is still there between the daylily clumps. I did not remove the grass, simply dug holes thru the grass and planted. I will do the bricks, then cut newspaper, lay on top of grass, then put straw on top of that so that the area between the clumps is heavily mulched. Also wanted to get the roots a chance to start growing. Straw works pretty well on slopes, I use it on sections of Azealea Hill and its pretty darn streep. Almost but not quite as bad as the area I am planting on now. No were near as gentile a slope as on the section in the front yard were I have the zinnias and the daylilies. This is what one has to resort to when one has run out of room.
