How do you know for sure it's a carnosa- doesn't pubicalyx look very similar when a young plant? I would like to know what differences to look for because I mixed cuttings from plants that had never bloomed and only realized I had two varieties growing together when they bloomed two different colors. ( pubicalyx was Pink Silver ) Now that the plants are older I can see the difference, but with the starts, I can't. What should I be looking for?

It is Krimson Princess, a lovely hoya and a fast grower. Susan

wanna run - how long ago did you get yours at Home Depot? i haven't checked out any of the EA hoyas in about a year, maybe I should if this one can be found there.

Well i had it in a smaller pot with a christmas cactus when I first got it. I didn't even know if had formed a root ball so one day I tugged on it and lo and behold it had a root ball. It was then that I out it in it's own pot. I don't think a 4" pot is soo big. It has produced 12 leaves in less than a year and seems to be very healthy. I realize I have an infant on my hands and don't expect it to bloom this year. I was just wondering what to look for when in the event it does bloom. As for "stealing" the clipping, it was not attatched to the plant., it was laying next to it. But I probably would have taken it even if it were attached. The lady at the check out looked at my water bottle I stuck the cutting in and I told her what I had done, she said well good for you you saved a plants life, so, sorry if I offended you. For this being my first hoya I am very pleased with my success so far, it seems to really like the home I gave it, clay pot and all.
