My observations have been with sugar apples. The flower shape and habits are virtually the same. Tran... if the female is successfully pollinated, it will not become a male...at least not that I have witnessed. Many publications state there is a best time to collect pollen and a best time to pollinate the female. I've found that if the pollen is viable, anytime you can find a female in the proper stage, that is the best time to make your attempt. I tried pollinating the female flowers in various stages of development. I believe the best time is when the flowers are somewhat open...petals are split apart. I remove all petals prior to pollinating. The only indication of success is that the flower does not dry up and fall off soon after pollinating...within a few days. A successful attempt keeps the stem intact and you will notice a tiny version of the fruit forming. Don't be discouraged if even these successful attempts end up dropping. The tree will only keep what it can support. My best advice is to make sure you collect lots of pollen. Tap the little container several times and you will be able to notice all of the pollen grains sticking to the sides. Make sure it can transfer to your little paint brush. Practice practice practice. You'll get the hang of it soon enough. Pay attention to what works and what does not. Good luck!

You need to know how much Kinkos will charge for each scan. You need to see how flat the book will go on the scanner to avoid light infiltrating the scan, especially those close to the binding side of the book. Years ago I was charged $10 for the first and $8 for all others. It did not take me long to realise that a $100 scanner was a bargain. You can be an expert at scanning about 5 minutes after you install it. If I am doing any photo editing or fixing damage I always scan large and in bitmap format for the best image I can get. Bigger and better can always be reduced, small files cannot be enlarged and maintain quality. The sale linked below ends today but it is only $8 off anyway so the scanner at regular price is not really outrageous. Check the flyers tomorrow (Sunday) The harder part will be cropping and resizing the scans and adding the name to each. Not really difficult but if you have never done it there is a learning curve. there is a plant propogation book i have wherein the author describes his own mist system. that author has a large black coil of hose in the roof of his greenhouse so that water can be heated before reaching the mist nozzles. that's at least one vote for using warm water and keeping the cuttings reasonably warm as they root. just thought i would toss that in! lol. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Posted by: mosaic z8 LA (My Page) on Sun, May 11, 03 at 11:59 With such a setup you could probably root roses under mist all winter here in Louisiana. And even though I had a pressure regulator on there, I kept having a problem with the heads blowing off! (Their drippers work perfectly by the way so it's nothing against the company) I ordered foggers from Misty Mate this year and they put out a super fine fog. Perfect for propagation. They are a litte more expensive than the ones from Dripworks but worth it. And if you ask they will ship the misting heads for $1.50. I went to HD and bought a 10-24 tap and drill set (3.00) and drilled holes in my 1/2" cvpvc and the heads just screwed right in! I bought a Melnor timer at HD for $39 and it has 1 minute spray options so I've got it set for 1 minute every 10 minutes. Can't remember the model number but it's not the one on the HD website. I hope to finish my new propagation box soon. I built one on a stand this year so I can move it around easily. Wouldn't you know, HD has plastic sheeting made just for greenhouses that I used! It's not the real thick heavy stuff either. It's only 4mil and is crystal clear see-thru! Hopefully I'll be finished this week!

This sounds to me like 4 separate jobs Remove and dispose of existing door, insulate and sheath opening $150 Install new door and lockset $250 Install new exterior trim and siding, cutting back existing to weave in matching product $300 Install drywall, tape, 3 coats of mud, prime and finish coat entire wall with matching paint $300 In each case, you would have a difficult time finding someone to do a high quality job for the amount shown, so a package deal at $1,000 is not high. Especially because now you don't have anyone pointing fingers at the other guys to justify questionable results. You have only one person responsible for making it appear that door opening has not been altered. Now, yes, this could be a DIY job but you probably need to spend some money on proper tools. Some people use the cost of hiring out the job to justify the price of additional or upgraded tools (like me!). You probably don't have the six foot level and may need to buy or upgrade a miter saw for the trim work.
