The mogadon may make for some interesting shots if you take them while under its influence, Greencroc! LOL! Seriously, though, that is a real shame :(

I am assuming that your camera has a booklet that comes with it, and that said booklet is almost a novel? Or that you have read the booklet, followed the instructions, and still come out with poor shots?

Is it possible to take the camera back to the shop that it was purchased from, with the photos you took? Perhaps they can show you how to fix the problem? I am sure you could even take it to a different camera house and get the assistant to show you what to do.

Alternatively, have you tried to 'google' camera make, and the problem, in order to see if others have experienced the same issues? Sometimes there are some great 'fixes' out there.

I would really suggest that you try to get the camera sorted out before you take any more shots, in case having the next reel developed turns out to be a waste of money too :(

I much prefer using digital cameras now. I can see the shot immediately and delete it if the wind suddenly blew and the rose blurred, for example.

Still, there is much to be said in favour of the 'traditional' camera. I just like the ease of use with the digital, these days :)

Much easier that fiddling with film.
I have a digital camera now and am impressed but don't see the absolute detail that the scans give.
I guess if I had gone to a high end digcam it may be different but a budget is a budget.:)

Sandie with my new little printer ($200 printer scanner fax in one jobbie) I thought OK I will have a go at scanning - so picked a rose and covered it in black cloth and pressed scan (on high res mode) and all I got was white background with a very out of focus rose in the middle - very unacceptable - so while you can do it, not all of us are as talented! the disaster is shown below. Any advice appreciated!

Ok-I have picked myself up off the floor now.:)
I have no idea why your scan turned out that way.
I have an old Hewlett Packard scanner from 1996 that I do the scans on.
I leave the lid up(guys should put it DOWN!) or take it off and don't cover the roses.
The scan comes out with a milky black background that Icorrect with paintfill and paintbrush in PSP.
The rose/s are clear as anything.
Don't know anything about these new-fangled all in one thangs.:)

Hi Kerorose.... Sandi is so right, now the best way to scan without bothering about the background is.
Leave the top up and scan the flower
I did this scan of a Grevillea in the evening, do not put anything on top of the flower.
If you want a lighter background do as Sandi said in the daylight and touch it up.
If you want a black background do it in the dark, use only the light of the computer monitor,
It will come out like this, sorry I have no roses scans anyway Sandi's are the best:....Cheers..MM.

Hi Greencroc,
Just a few tips. Come back a bit from the flower so that in your viewfinder you have a bit of a buffer zone all the way around. That should help the missed the mark bit.
For the focus, is your film speed right for the light you are using? Also, many people jab at the shutter button and it causes camera shake. Hold your breath and just gently squeeze the button. Might make a difference. Try with and without the flash.
Hope the next lot are better.
Until you are comfortable with how the camera is going use 12 shot films so you can pick up mistakes sooner and try to correct them.

Hi Judy,it seems I was using the wrong film for a start,I knew that should have got rid of the 400.Yes I was too close but still have problems with macro it is just something simple it seems I,m doing wrong no doubt it will come as it still takes nice photoes,had one nice one of hippiastrums,absolute corker,many thanks greencroc.
