CANDY STRIPE!

Candy Stripe is the first rose to bloom out of all the recently dug up and potted roses that I now have!

It seems strange to see her blooming in a pot rather than in the ground, but at least she is blooming!

Happy Days followed a close second and

Princess followed almost immediately after that.

I have buds on Mon Cheri.

I also have buds on one or two more, and I am waiting anxiously to see what they actually ARE because some of the labels fell off on the trip to the new place!

Out of 96 cuttings taken from the bushes that I had to leave behind, 86 have actually TAKEN! LOL! I may very well end up with far more roses than I started out with.

And then there are the seeds...

They are almost ready to come out of the fridge now.

On the health front, things are also looking a little brighter now.

I still miss the roses that I had to leave behind, but I am doing better than I WAS.

How Wonderful to hear from you again, and thats terrific news on the health front.
Never mind about the roses, your health is more important you know you can always get more.
But you say you probably have more now, and thats good too.
Isn't it great that roses can be grown in pots and give us so much joy.
As I am sure your roses are doing just that for you MeriBast, keep us posted.

This is my Red Sensation. The back rose is 2 days older than the front two. I love it's color, and it's can stay pretty for a week. The scent is light, but I can blame the allergies on the lack of smell to my nose. And it always is the perfect partner for my other roses on my patio.

Thank you all so much for your kind wishes and encouragement. I appreciate them a great deal ...smiles...

I really am looking forward to growing the cuttings out when they get a little bigger. I was very surprised at how many actually took! I used 'rooting powder' (as my dad used to call it) on some of them, and when I ran out of that I just put the cuttings straight in the pots. It is questionable as to how well the hormones work, because the ones without it are doing just as well as the ones with it!

I am also looking forward to trying my hand at growing roses from seed. I have never done it before, so it will give me something new and exciting to do.

I have found that I am now able to go outside and look at the roses every day, like I used to. It is nice to be able to do it, but I am still adjusting to how strange they look in pots. I did not think I would have such trouble identifying the ones without their tags! I looked at the bushes all the time, and yet, for the life of me I cannot tell which ones they are! LOL!

Ahh well, I am sure that I will know soon enough ... smiles...

Anyway, once again, thank you all so much! All your support and lovely words throughout the past few months mean so much to me!

How wonderful for you, I am sure you must have a magic touch with your cuttings.

It is amazing how even in this method of communication we can tell how much better you are feeling....when you posted how down you were feeling I felt so sad for you(and I meant my offer of help wholeheartedly) but now you sound 'up' and coping so well....that is terrific and I am very happy for you.....Tina
