I usually give away the larger plants, but then they always fit so easily under shrubs and such that they don't really compete much with most other plants. They do most of their growing during the 'off' season and then politely disappear when everything else starts to grow. To me an 'exceptional' form would be one with larger blooms, a new flower form or a unique color. I'm guessing yours are cyclamen hederifolium and for me the foliage on these is even nicer than the blooms. Last year I killed one which developed a nice pink tint on the leaves once it got cooler out, I wouldn't have minded a division on that one.... although I know I wouldn't have braved it. Let us know how your experiment works. If it were me I would dust with rooting powder (usually contains a fungicide) and be done with it. I've also heard cinnamon works as a fungicide or a 10% bleach wash as a disinfectant.... or you could purchase something specific to your experiment, but then it starts costing money. Right now the various leaf patterns and shapes are really looking nice.

Hederifolium here tend to flower from late August to maybe October, they're long done now..but leave the beautiful leaves for the winter. I never did have much persistent luck with coum, I have a couple now that I planted two years ago...and I'm hopeful (but we'll see). I actually ordered ten, but tried various places as experiments as to where they were happy and have two left. Purpurascens goes belly up in summer here and rots. I don't know how many I killed from Ellen Hornig. I've never had any cyclamen self-sow as people advertise. That being said, I think I need to find a few more hederifolium, any recommendations as good (and possibly cheap) places?

I assume these are hardy C hederifolium? Mine are flowering now but they won’t get their full quota of leaves until Autumn. The corms often look ratty. Slugs and woodlice can have a go at them. I would replant immediately, concave side up and cross your fingers. Don’t bother about souping up the ground with compost. These things thrive in poor, dry soils and can take shade. No. 3 has a seed pod so maybe it flowered earlier than mine do. Your top one could be a silvery leaved version. Note the difference to mine.
