I know! Which is why I bought 3 bushes. One of them, in my perennial bed gets bs late in the season but the other two get bs to the point that I am considering removing them. I don't have any trouble with my Kiss Me or Sunrise Sunset, Kashmir, Como Park or my Weeks rose Drop Dead Red. If you want a good hybrid tea style red rose Drop Dead red and Kashmir have been good in my bs magnet garden in humid hot SW Ohio at the height of summer. i have had good luck so far with all my Kordes roses and with Belinda's Dream ( touch wood).

I would scrutinize my watering practices and see how the rose responds, Natasha. Watering twice a week is kind of insane for young roses trying to survive our dryness/heat during the summer, but I am sure you are aware that you must continue your diligence and figure it out. Adjusting your practices accordingly should reveal if the problem is watering, over-fertilizitation, or something like that. If the problem persists, I would remove the roses one by one, carefully potting them up in between waterings. Their new pot should prepared so once the rose is carefully removed, it can be placed directly in to the pot, covered with potting soil, a little compost, and watered without delay. It then should live in shade or open shade until it rebounds. Once showing health, it can be taken out into morning sun only for about 3-4 hours or so. Btw, you are correct, we are drier, with 4-4.5" of rain annually :(... just not quite as hot, nor for as long. You all get an extra month of that heat. We are beginning our extreme heat descent right now.

Part of my post disappeared :(. Diane earth angel is a slow re bloomer and not super productive. In that image I have 3 planted together. I am hopping in the future it will improve. Desdémona on the other had does produce hundreds of blooms. Ohhh vapor I wish I could send you one of my huge monsters. I cut down desire down to the ground this winter and is back to 7 feet tall canes. I meant for Desdemona to cascade over dark desire’s red blooms with lichfield angel on front. Now I have dark desire smothering everything on its path and can’t even see Desdémona unless I circle to the back of the bed. I have trouble making things happen how I imagine it.

BIG pots are best. The bigger the better. Pots MUST have drainage holes and NEVER use trays under them. They must drain freely. Use a good quality potting soil, not garden soil, so it will drain well. Roses want full, direct sunlight, 6 to 8 hours worth a day. Do they stay on that patio all the time? If so try to keep them away from the walls. Those walls reflect a lot of heat. You might also want to get them up on some of those pot trolleys so they aren't sitting on the hot pavers. Water, water, water!!!! Potted roses, if there is good drainage, can not be over watered. In high heat you may need to water EVERY day. I water my pots until I SEE water start to drain out the bottoms. David Austin roses, in particular, are big water hogs (they were bred in rainy old England!). I water mine more than any other roses in my garden. But every rose is different and will have different needs. Koko Loco may just want more water than others. I check my pots by sticking my finger into the soil down to the first knuckle. If it feels dry down that far I water. If a rose looks wilty, I water. If it's over 90 I water. Your roses don't look bad at all. Those few yellow leaves may just be older leaves that the rose is shedding. It will not support any leaves that are no longer providing food for the plant so it stops send up water and nutrients to those leaves and they yellow and fall off. Just remove them. These pots are at least 2 feet wide and the gray ones are about 30 inches tall.
