Noooooo, I guess we're hopeless. I didn't go scavenging for milk jugs but can save enough for my needs because I don't want to go overboard and have other stuff I can plant in. Have saved about 9 ice cream tubs with the handles though. But . . . um, I took my garbage cart out to the alley, and these bags have been sitting across the alley for ages, no stickers on them, no free period yet, city won't take them. Sooooooo, I decide to see what they've got over there, it's a rental for some time now, and the beautiful peony is getting more and more crowded with weeds. Daggone, I won't snitch the peony but will weed around it so it will bloom next spring, a really beautiful one. Well, I peeked in the kraft bags and found two full of nice pin oak leaves. I lost my tree and was planning to get some from the alley later and maybe the neighbor across the way, but have a good start now. Two bags had a bunch of junk mixed in with the leaves so I left them. Got the 1st dumped in my little compost bin, picked up the second and the bottom fell out. So I scooped up what I could and kept any more from scattering until I stuck it in one of those Walmart tubs I just got emptied last week. It looks so much better out there. I had tons of containers from two years ago, finally got it all cleaned up. Now I'm just about ready to plant what's left.

Sooo here's the answer directly FROM the ORTHO WEED B GON label: "Do not allow people or pets to enter the treated area until sprays have dried." PERIOD -- Nothing more / Nothing less. OK, now I'll wander off in the weeds... for anyone who has nothing better to do than listen to / read my rant... LOL ;-) We've had dogs all my life, AND have used it on our yard for many years -- usually just in the spring to knock down new broadleaf growth. Obviously we keep our dogs (and kids when they were young and at home) OFF until it's dry; AND have not had any cancers in/on any of our canines -- German Shepherds, Golden Retrievers, Irish Setters, and a Collie -- nor ANY family members. FYI, I grew up farming (3rd generation large family farm) -- dairy, beef, hogs and crops; and have used herbicides all my life -- now 63. Dad is 93, Mom is 90, and no cancers... We've harvested / eaten our own produce, slaughtered / eaten our own beef & pork as well as plenty of RAW whole milk from our Guernsey dairy herd... YET, nothing surprises me anymore these days... with so many that are paranoid, even "hateful" of anything that doesn't say "organic"! We NEVER buy organic products at the store -- a huge waste of money in my book. IMO, folks today are being flooded with so much BS in social media, in grocery and "health food" stores, etc. and I'm simply fed up with it! My degrees are in agriculture from Iowa State, including teaching Ag, and have had many "discussions" with folks who get on their high horse about only buying "organic"... and they usually end up walking away... unable to "defend" why they think organic is the "only way". LOL To each their own, I respect what others wish to eat and use in their homes, etc.... simply encourage them to "educate" themselves from actual biological, chemical, physical, etc. data that is verifiable -- NOT all the social media hype AND so many of the businesses that are reaping ridiculous financial profits from "organic" sales. AGAIN, "until sprays have dried" are the operative words here!!! I just sprayed my backyard this afternoon (spot sprayed areas as needed -- not entire surface area) about 3 hours ago AND will be letting our 3 dogs out as soon as we finish supper... so will be about 4 hours. I've already gotten down and checked -- all is dry, but will give it an "extra" hour. ;-)

Oh, hi mckitty. We travel with our pups all the time and sometimes it is such a bust. Have to face it that some people just do not like dogs... So much more help now with the internet 'pet friendly' help i have found, and i try to help also. We travel to Newfoundland once, sometimes twice a year so we often take a side trip. Cruise through tripadvisor using 'pet friendly' key words. I'll add a link. (that has another link) We did not have much luck traveling through the Cape but we winged it last minute. We really need off-leash running to burn off steam. But overall it is very pet friendly just about everywhere on a leash. Off season would be much better. I do hope you took her to the vet already. My dog had a swollen toe, which I didn't think was a real problem since it didn't affect her walking or seem to bother her at all. I had taken her to the vet for other things and they noticed the toe, but didn't seem too concerned of it, so I figured they would know and left it as just another in a long line of benign bumps she'd previously developed. It became a natural part of life for months until it suddenly turned dark and made her limp, at which time I panicked and took her in. My deepest nightmare and regret... Even after they surgically took the toe off, she developed Mast Cell cancer from it. The surgery was too late and killed her about a month later. The kicker here is that once the toe turned dark, my vets relayed of their having heard of many other dogs getting Mast Cell cancer from swollen toes before and that if ever a dog had a swollen toe you should just take it off and not chance it, because even if it's benign in the beginning, the chances are it will turn later, and probably too late. These are the same vets that noticed it earlier and didn't say a damn thing! I'm angry and frustrated and just don't understand. I miss my girl terribly and feel I truly let her down. I know I was in denial and should have investigated further and not just count on bumbling doctors not paying attention or simply not giving a damn. I think I was afraid of knowing due to not being able to fix it, but this was fixable if caught in time. Please do not allow this to happen to your baby. You'll regret it forever. I do. My heart aches terribly from it all. I will never forget my beloved baby girl and pray I reunite with her in the ever-after when my time on this earth is done. God knows it would never be Heaven for me without her.
