Masha, I don't think I'm the only one who is hugely enjoying all the pictures you've posted from the SJHRG. The fact that some of them are rather rare beauties only adds to the enjoyment. Mrs. E.G. Hill is beyond beautiful; I'm just stunned by this rose which I've never heard of. I'm hoping that you don't run out of pictures any time soon and don't get tired of posting them. Sherry Good to know that Clark is being grown in the US.Sunny South is certainly not a tall bush in my garden, I think it's one of his less successful roses. Lorraine Lee is fairly slow to establish, here it has the virtue of flowering through winter, mine is in bud now. That might not be an advantage in Florida. My favourite Clarks are Cicely Lascelles (vivid pink, huge, flowers right through the season), Marjorie Palmer (small, very free blooming all year)and if you want leaves all year see if you can get Jessie Clark or Milkmaid (both once flowerers but mine are in flower for three months, don't lose their leaves, don't get BS). Another beauty is Squatter's Dream (I know, you think the name is funny, squatters are a kind of unique group in Australia's history, something like settlers or ranchers)blooms all year, stays small, looks a lot like Mrs Oakley Fisher. When you read "disease resistant" it's probably talking about Melbourne (where I live) which once was known for it's cool wet winters and dodgy summers. Recently we've had hot, dry summers and dry winters, humidity is rarely a problem. Go for more Clarks, Regards Sue

Jana, It sounds like you need to find a nurseryman who imports roses and convince him(her) that 'Quietness' needs to arrive in Europe. I did take a look at Helpmefind to see if they listed a European vendor for this rose, and you're right, there wasn't one. Mailing roses without sending them through an agricultural inspection is illegal, of course. The thought that bothers me is accidentally introducing Rose Rosette Disease to Europe: now that's a petrifying idea. Good luck in finding your rose! Like Mariannese, I've hankered after the 'Radiance' clan for some years. At least now the Hooks at Roseraie du Désert have introduced some of the U.S.-bred Poly-poms over here, and I can rejoice in the presence of 'Lady Ann Kidwell' in the garden. Melissa

Hi Hidden, Welcome! I am in zone 6 in south central PA. Here Mary Roses seem very resistant as far as the pinks go. Beverly is too but her form is more traditional. Heritage is very David Austin in form and has a lovely scent. Here is something to consider though. I have planted the same roses in two locations on the property. One rose will get get black spot and one will not. Rather than blame it on the rose, I imagine it has to do with growing conditions like sun and airflow or the weather in general. Since BS and Powdery Mildew are the 2 banes of my roses I thought I would share this. I just re-watched Gardeners World season 2016 episode 22. Monty Don, my guru for organic gardening, mentioned that Powdery Mildew was caused by the plant being too dry. I had never considered that. So this year at the first sign of PM on my roses or clematis or honeysuckle, etc I am upping my watering frequency.
