Make your planting bed wider. There will be more room for the plants to get the size nature intended them to be, and less lawn to mow. An appropriate proportion is 1/3rd the maximum height of your home. For example, if you home maximum height is 18 feet, a proportional bed width would be six feet. With a bed 6 feet wide, you can plant in layers: taller plants in back, mediums in the middle, and small colorful fillers in front. Makes for a much better looking home.

Hi Vickie I was experiementing with the camera my DH got me for Christmas...it is digital. My old digital just didn't cut it for good pics to print out. This one is a little complicated for me if I do anything more than point and shoot...haha Yes the Graham Thomas rose is fragrant, but not as fragrant as some of my other roses. It is a David Austin rose. I really love this one as it is a prolific bloomer, and just a very 'happy' looking rose. It makes me smile just look at the huge bush loaded with blooms. Spectacular this year! This is the 4th season for it and I can't believe how big it is. When this one arrived in the mail it was so small and one tiny branch was damaged...I had to prune it off...which made the bush smaller than ever. But this guy has more than made up for it. He is the largest of all my roses now. BTW-I hope the links to the accomodation sites will be helpful in planning a nice vacation. We really enjoy the Rockport/Port Aransas area. Have been going down there for years. Also used to go to South Padre a lot as well. But we seem to like the Port A. area best now. More to do in that area. In 2005 we rented a 3 bedroom 3 bath house and took my son and my mom with us for a week in February. It was very nice and spacious. There is a very nice place which we have gone to several times between Corpus Christi and Port A. on Mustang Island which was just great. Surfside condominiums. I will give you the link to it also. We have not been there since about 1998 so it may have changed but we had a favorite condo we always asked for there. Very Nice! Going by the photo, and your description of the bloom's colors and especially lack of fragrance, my guess is Montezuma. Montezuma is a grandiflora-class rose, color is rated by ARS as "orange-pink," averaging 36 petals per bloom, blooms mostly singly in my yard - sometimes in low-number clusters, and tends to have long straight-ish canes reminiscent of a climber. I generally am not interested in slight-scent roses. The few exceptions I've made to that rule are due to their having "spectacular-colored" blooms. (Moonstone, green-edged St. Patrick, etc.) That is the reason why I have 5 Montezuma bushes. You might want to check some photos of Montezuma at HelpMeFind dotcom to help decide whether that's your mystery-rose.
