Costus Eskimo Kiss with new camera

First time this has flowered.

Very delicate and a deep shade of red.

Stands out amongst the green.

Peppie is a rat terrier, which is actually a mixture of five or six other breeds, and I must say that some of the doggies posted after mine look very similar to him. We have another dog, a Yorkie, and unfortunately Peppie has never really warmed up to her, although he adored our Main Coone cat, a gentle giant who persisted in trying to befriend Peppie, despite many rebuffs, until Peppie fell in love with him. I love hearing all about the foibles of your dogs, and their interactions with their people and other pets. Florence, there's no question you had to marry Bob for Charlie's sake. Thank you for the compliment on my pot, Debbie! I am a full fledged Heuchera addict now that I discovered how they love to hang out with my hostas. Whats up peeps! Oh how I missed you all! Chell happy happy to see you back... Good to see your new profession... No way, It is Eskimo Kiss. The Barbados is sometimes called Red Tower Ginger or Cosmosis. It has tall stems with a red ginger like flower with yellow edible pods.

Ian , feel the leaves of both species in question , Costus barbartus and Costus eyrthrocoryne are very similar looking , but have diferent textures , the C.barbartus has a slightly hairy texture under the leaf , other sp. is smooth. The 'Eskimo Kiss' has a terminal flower , so whoever sold you yours , has sent the wrong plant . I have made the same mistake myself .
