We have had over 80mls of rain this mth. & everything is looking good I thought I would share some pics. with you the first is Pinkie rose & clematis{{gwi:2114605}}

O Jan your garden is just so beautiful so lush and green with plants and flowers everywhere.
What a joy it must be to you both..That Clematis is lovely.
So is the Pinkie rose on the fence with it. Loooks terrific on that blue or lilac fence.
Whats in the barrow this year, sorry I just cannot make it out close up vision not the best.

Thanks for your replies. The tree on the right side of photo in the park has branches that overhang where I intend to put the Serviceberry. Should I cut these overhanging branches or will the Serviceberry be OK without having to cut them? The tree on the left side of the photo is about 10m away from the Serviceberry and has no overhanging branches that come on to my property. Where I intend to put the Japanese Maple has no overhanging tree branches. (BTW, Ottawa is Zone 4b - I have grown a Japanese Maple in my old home and other than having a hard time in full sun during a hot summer, the maple did well). The first attached photo is a leaf from the tree on the right side of photo (sorry, it is a little out of focus). Last question: I am thinking of putting another tree where the Japanese Yew is in the above photo (which has been planted in the bottom right corner of the garden bed). Could I get away with NOT lifting the Turf?

Remove the turf. You don't want an uneven layer of decomposing (shrinking) stuff below astroturf. ...unless you eventually want a lumpy finished product.

Will my rose plant grow back?

No I don't unfortunately, but all the growth actually were at the top when it used to grow, then from the bottom like the average rose. I was actually thinking it could of been a tree rose, but I'm just not sure now, not an expert lol. I asked my mum if she knew what kind it was as she brought it, but she's not sure either. Yeah, what I'll do is just leave it and keep watering everyday and see what happens in a few months, I think that's all I can do really now. If it doesn't get back to how it was and it doesn't look right, I'll probably yank it up and replace it.

My kind of garden too. I hadn't thought to entwine the clematis with Pinkie as they are both such prolific growers. How do you go about pruning them?

pinkie and clematis make such a pretty colour combo.

your garden IS so tidy, if that were my garden there would be pots and things all over the place waiting for someone (me) to trip over them. :)

Thankyou all for your comments it makes it worth while to post when you get some comments, MM in the barrow is sweet peas the rambeling ones also Californian poppys, Tricia I rarely need to prune them as they are being trained along the top I guess there will come a day when I will need to
