I have white baptisia. Not sure which it is. I've been growing it in my yard for 5-6 yrs. Blooms early but foliage stays clean in our heat,apx 4 ft tall w/blue/green foliage,white blooms on dark stems.Does do better w/ afternoon shade. PP

A sansevieria trifasciata (snake plant or mother in laws tongue)would be a good choice. They are tall enough for a floor plant, dont seem to mind a little extra heat, and are great for lower light situations

I have an entire bed of Mexican petunias they are pink, purple and light blue, they are beautiful and thrive here in the Texas heat, they get lots of sun. I have Lantana in the blazing heat and sun and it's growing like mad. I have beautiful blue Sweet Dreams Duranta it does well here. Also the purple with pink flowers wandering jew plants do well. I have lots of cannas in various colors.

Much of the tropics have COOLER summer temps than Texas and the US SW deserts. Even the southern end of the Chihuahua desert is cooler and less extreme than the northern end in Arizona. Most of Mexico has high elevations and are more temperate in their summer temperatures. Same all through most Central america, Ecuador , Venezuela , Peru. By my understanding, it is all about how hot the nighttime temperatures are that impedes fruit setting . Ave 75º at night and fit set gets iffy. Some of the heat resistant ones will set in hotter temps. I have a friend growing tomatoes in Tucson and he is having highs in 104-107 and lows in around 62-65º. He still is getting tomatoes but might be at the end of his season too.
