This pic of Paul Cezanne really shows the pink shades that were not there last year.As the nursery said just wait a year...she was right.

A great show Michelle, I love them all. But I must admit to being a DA fan.
And I adore PA I nearly bought it but settled on Brass Band instead.
I will have to be content with looking at yours. Fiona's Wish still looking good.
Your PC is another very pretty one as you say worth waiting for.
Terrific bunch in the vase too...Cheers..MM.

usak, you are definitively growing very beautiful roses! I was happy when I read that you are also gardening organically like I do and proof the point that you can grow wonderful roses that way that don't have to fear the comparison with roses that get sprayed. You seemed to be really in love with Tuscany Superb and I can understand why. I was also blown away when I saw it the first time in person. Since I love white roses Bouquet Parfait looks really appealing to me. I have never heard of this rose. Thanks for bringing it to my attention. Your hedge of Excelsa is absolutely stunning. It can't get more floriferous than that! That Paul's Himalayan Musk is breathtakingly beautiful, too! Another favorite for me out of the bunch that you posted is Johann Strauss. I really admire the delicacy of this rose and you captured it beautifully. Thanks for sharing your roses here, I hope we will see more of your roses in the future. Christina

Ahhh Arif, my friend, we have another love in Common...Euphorbia. I have a few varieties myself and love how they bloom constantly and endure anything. They are also know here as "crown of thorns" as in the biblical reference. I do not know for a fact tho that Euphorbia were used. Frank, whenever I trim or transplant, I use long-handle BBQ tongs! The thorns are unbearable if you get them in your fingers! I will take photos of some of mine to share.

Advice on browning in the cups of my Neos
Q
Comments (1)
Hi cavoodle, do you have any photos showing the damage to your Neo's...? There are many things that can cause browning of leaves down in the cup. Too hot, too cold, water run off from treated timer, concentrated liquid fertiliser... As a general rule, we find that (in our growing conditions) damage will be seen about 3 months after the event. For example, if the plant received some water run off from treated timber during February, then the damage would typically be seen during May as brown marks on the leaves, when they grow out from the central cup. Try to recall any event 2 to 3 months ago that could have caused some damage to your plants.

a2g: under the soup recipe I linked the post from mntrdredux where powerbread was discussed, but here's the direct link to the recipe I used. Usually I take the time to make it over 3 days, it has much more depth that way. But it's good to know that in a pinch you can just throw it all together all at once and still have a decent and tasty loaf of bread: power bread The muffins are nothing special, but they are quite yummy and it gets my no-I-don't-eat-vegetables toddler to get a bit of zucchini past his lips. Here's my mom's recipe for chocolate zucchini cake, I just put it into muffin tins and baked them 'til they seemed done (15-20 mins?). I omit the orange rind and do a mix of whole wheat and white flour. Chocolate Zucchini Cake 2 1/2 cups flour 1/2 cup cocoa 2 1/2 tsp baking powder 1 1/2 tsp baking soda 1 tsp salt 1 tsp cinnamon 3/4 cup oil 2 cups sugar 3 eggs 2 tsp vanilla 2 tsp orange rind 2 cups grated zucchini 1/2 cup milk 1 cup walnuts/raisins (optional) Combine flour, cocoa, baking powder, baking soda, salt and cinnamon and set aside. Mix oil and sugar until smooth. Add eggs one at a time. With a spoon stir in vanilla, orange rind and zucchini. Alternately add dry ingredients with wet to creamed mixture. Add nuts, pour into 10" bundt pan. Bake at 350 F for 1 hour Tami-the pulls are Amerock Blackrock, details of my kitchen can be found here

MM...thankyou PA is going beserk this year and the colour is so rich.I think I planted it in a good spot.
Are you happy with Brass Band?
I would imagine they would be similiar.
The only thing is that DAs dont last long in the vase.Im lucky to get 3 days out of them in the vase. That even when the blooms are being supported by the neck of the vase:))

Your vases, just beautiful :)
I can't wait for the roses, a few older varieties are coming out, but most are ready to burst with a bit of sunshine.

Hi
MM I think Brass Band is just as lovley as PA.It certainly has the colour and its a little different in the shape of the flower but I still think its a lovely rose.

steveTL Reconciliation is a fabulous rose. Most interesting colours dont you think? This is one of my favourites. The photo is bit glary and doesnt reflect the true mix of colours.I love the salmon colour in it.

MarySA thankyou. I love to fill the house with vases everywhere!
