What color is your naked lady lily? I have a nice size trade of a red variegated plant that blooms white and tolerates shade very well. Red Dragon Persicaria. You can see pictures of the mother plant in my garden here: Thanks - Miranda

Agree - they will transplant without blinking!! But be aware that a firmly established colony of daylilies can be a chore to move.....they develop a dense and heavy root system. I once had a somewhat similar situation in a previous garden.......a smallish sloped area in my front garden that I planted solely with a collection of daylilies. After a few years, their appearance by late summer was something I could no longer tolerate in my front yard. Limp, floppy foliage, lots of yellow or brown leaves, old flower stalks sticking up. They just didn't look good enough long enough to justify such a prominent placement! So I dug them all up, gave a bunch away and replanted others in among other perennials and shrubs where their untidy late season apperance was not so obvious or jarring.

Yes, they are too close together. You need to separate them and plant them at least 10 inches apart now that they're mature sized daylilies. I'm wondering why it took six years for them to bloom. Perhaps you have them in too much shade. Mine usually bloom for the first time within one to two years. Debra

Try to recall where you bought them. Did you order from a garden, buy on the Lily Auction or buy locally? Big Box stores dont carry alot of newer varieties. Maybe you left a tag on the lily and it is buried in the dirt? You might post a photo - someone might take an educated guess. When I buy, I have a computer list for the year and write down who I purchased from, what the lily was, other information I might need. I bought a Brother labeler and label all my plants with that. This really helps. If you cant figure out what they are - and so many look alike - just label them NOID - no I D. You can figure out if they are tet or dip by looking at the bloom - dips sometimes are long and skinny and the end of their blooms are thin - tets tend to be fatter at the ends. Tet seeds are fat - dips tend to be smaller. Figuring out which ploidy can help you figure out what they might be. You can also, when blooming, pollinate one with a known tet pollen, and one with a known dip pollen and see which makes a seed - but be sure to label which is which.
