PV, both of my fig trees died, as did the red crepe myrtle trees I started for my daughter in SC. Most of my perennials in pots are gone, except for bakemom's penstemon huskers red and a snow queen daisy. A nearby herb farm said they lost a thousand perennials. It was a pretty crazy winter-early spring this year. On the other hand, there were some really nice surprises, so in the end it all balanced out. I'll be getting treatments until the end of October, so I should be able to get back to WS'ing this year. Mary

Hi Audrey! That sounds good. I'll take all the comfrey I can get. I want to grow a lot of it. It sounds like there are a lot of good uses for it. I don't plan on drinking it as a tea, however. I'm a little leery of doing that with herbs but it makes great healing pig fodder as well as garden fertilizer. I have really appreciated all that spurge. I have lots of space to fill. I spread it out in tiny pieces as an edging and am looking forward to seeing it filled out. I know what you mean about the oregano. I had it everywhere at our previous place too. Now I have mint in abundance all over this property! Want some mint? I'm happy to send you some blue flax seeds or I can save them for an exchange in the spring. Whatever you want to do is fine with me. If you want me to send them to you, you'll have to send me an email with your address.

Thank you everyone. I love peonies and have over 50 or so sprinkled throughout my yard. Nancy, don't give up on the poppies. I just plant them in full sun and make sure to water them in. They take a few years to show their full beauty, but once they do, they are amazing! BTW, these are Oriental poppies. If you were referring to the somniferum poppies, try growing them by winter sowing. I tried and failed so many times to grow this variety and only had great success with the winter sowing method. There's a forum on here with tons of information on how to do it. I'll try to post pics too. Good luck!
