Tiny plant BIG flower!

Pleasant surprise today. Campanula betulifolia in flower. It comes from Turkey, Armenia and the Caucasus and if you look closely you can see birch-like leaves. Grew them from seed and the other dozen or so haven't budded up as yet so I'll have to look after this one.

What a cutie! Isn't it satisfying growing things from seed, and having them bloom? Cheers, Jan

Something in the Lamiaceae. Does the foliage smell rank? Aromatic? Not at all? Have a look at Ballota, Clinopodium or Galeopsis and see if anything matches. Also please tell us where you are geographically as that is important information for id purposes.

carol23 - Thank you so much. I think that was the fastest reply I've ever received on these forums. You're right that my plant looks just like the Solanum nigrum. And it seems the ripe berries are edible. Reading online, it seems this plant is commonly mistaken for the deadly nightshade plant.
