Pixie Lilies are great for edges. I have hundreds in various colors. If you leave the clump together too long the roots of the new bulbs may choke out the origial for food. I'd seperate them now and give at least 2" for spreading depending on how close a group you want. This year I seperated a clump which had 6 "new" bulbs 3 years ago and this year it had 27. So they do quite well. It is obvious the your clump is not getting enough nutrients to each bulb by the lack of blooms. Seperate everything , check carefully some will be very small. Pixie bulbs are small enough when full size, even smaller as babies. As with ALL LILIUMS....they are very strong plants and handle abuse well. But DO NOT over water. Better too dry than too wet. Since this is 2nd year you will be very happy with Lilies the more you get the more you want. There isn't much that will kill them except too wet. You do know they need too stay in ground and be frozen? You can dig and move as soon as the leaves turn brown. All LILIUMS, pixie or otherwise can be treated the same. Do you have normal size ones? On those you can propogate by: look around the stalk right where it joins the bulb for small "new bulbs about 1/2" or less, You can pull off a few (5-6) "flakes" off each bulb to get a new plant (plant only 1/4" deep), look on the top half of the stalk for very small bulblets next to a leaf (less than 1/4"), seed pods. In my opinion Tulips are very tough but Lilies are even tougher to kill. Go for it.

Boy, water, water, water, is right. However, the butterflies have managed to come out during the brief intervals when it's NOT raining and lay some eggs. The clematis are still blooming, lavendar is bloomin' like crazy, I tell ya, crazy! Achillea 'Coronation Gold' still going at it, too, as well as catmint, malva mauritania (they are humongous this year), pentas are bloomin (I sure hope I get tersa sphinx caterpillars on them this year), and my sunflowers are blooming. My lilies are just about to pop - Lilium 'Tiger Babies' (a kind of muted pink/peach blush), an oriental gold/white stripe, Asiatic 'Oklahoma City', that big old white one that is so fragrant it knocks your socks off, and one of those new freckled asiatics, too. I am starting to notice some blacking on the tips of foliage of some plants, though, and these are plants that LIKE a lot of water. That means we're having too much for sure. I may have to dig this one up (it's Vernonia augustifolia, or Ironweed) and put in a container for awhile to see if I can intercept root rot. My passiflora incarnata 'Incense' is finally breaking ground (it is SOOOOOO late to come up), and I worry every year that it is gone. So, heaving a sigh of relief. My pineapple lilies are just "lilies gone wild" this year. They have multiplied so much, I really must divide them - this is the plain green one. My purple one has not started multiplying yet. My little Asclepias curassavicas (tropical milkweed) are up and doing nicely so far. I pinched out my seedlings of several species asclepias so they would start branching out and throwing up foliage from the base. If no one around here has Dutchman's pipevine, I will mail my eggs to a friend in Mississippi who has lots of pipevine. I'd love to see them grow and develop, but I know I don't have enough pipevine yet to support them. The monarda fistulosa is about to bloom, and my alocasia macrorhizas are back after this disastrously wet and cold winter we had. I was afraid they might have bit the dust. Oh, and the calla lilies are up and should be blooming soon as well. My poor back yard looks like a swamp, though! Not very good drainage in certain places! Hibiscus 'Fantasia' and 'Kopper King' are about to get blooms, too. Susan

Karen, Thank you for helping me look! I'm looking it up right now, and... argh! It is so close! 'Elizabeth Francis Woodall' has black tips on the stamens while mine seem a brownish/orange and a EFW has a very light yellow edging to the ruffles. The rest of the coloring is dead on. Going to check out 'Broadway Pink Slippers' and... that is much pinker than mine. Thank you for the name of that daylily nursery. I'll keep looking through their dl's. What a great assortment! Alana, I love baby shops. When Gymboree opened here I was having a blast picking up little outfits for my daughter and niece. Love that girly stuff. I hope things go quickly for you in Dayhoit. Never heard of it either. Thanks be for Google, eh? It has helped me get in and out of places that were too small for most gas station maps. Hurry home and keep an eye on these thieves. Hey Vic! We have rentals here in Cleveland and Lakewood. One is our old house that we used to live in. The guys are usually late with the check and it takes a phone call or two. Once they switched to new cell phones and I did have to drive over there. Nothing like me showing up with a van full of kids to make them want to get that check there a little quicker. Want me to drive to Michigan. Shouldn't be more than a couple hours. I'll threaten them with having to babysit. That might do it. I'm sorry about what happened with Jamie's job. Ed's customers are pretty slow paying right now. I told him he better start getting some money up front. It drives me crazy when he floats the cost of materials and they take forever to pay him at the end of the job. He is finally starting to listen to me about it. Deb, I think no one wants the game to end. They all know it's over when your box gets grabbed. LOL! Does the garage sale start tomorrow? I hope you have a great turn out and the weather stays beautiful for it. Sweet Dreams! Nighty night Sassy, sweet dreams to you too.

I would love to stay and chat girls, but I can barely keep my eyes open. It was a long day today. I will see you in the am. Karen, are you in my time zn? It's 10:00 here now, and we are almost neighbors. If so, 11 would be when she is posting and you might have a chance still : ) Shirley, that is another beauty, I love those types Fran, sounds like your feeling better still today, that's good! Soooo, what were the extras you were going to put in that box for me??? Denise, since some MEAN person stold that box from me I'm gonna have to try and work out a trade with you for some honeysuckles! : ) Yes Tracy, he was nice. LOL See you girls in the am!
