I planted one less than year ago to cover an ugly fence and it is fully covered and the flowers of the passion fruit are amazing. It is in full bloom now and has been blooming for several weeks. Just make sure you get the ones that are self pollinating. I have one that is not and I have been pollinating by hand which is a chore and I am not even sure if I am doing it right. "Posted by girlsaylorz9a 10 Ft Lauderdale Bromeliads, absolutely, are the working bones of parts of this garden." Girlsaylorz9a: I have been sticking the top of pineapples i buy at the store and they all survive despite the neglect and the utter lack of watering. I even had a pineapple this Summer from the first one I potted. So I definitely second bromeliads. It is great for all those gardens that are solid coral like mine and where it is near impossible to dig holes.

Thank you for the pic... yes a little big for a sprout! :) And yes, I have read a couple of places to stay away from any fertilizer for a while... I will post a picture of the sprout later to see what you think. Now I just have to find my camera....lol.
