I would take apart that branch and start a new pot. The main plant probably needs to be repotted. Clean out as much as the old potting mix you can, trim the roots a bit and put it in a new fast draining mix. You can search 5-1-1 mix here and repotting. There are lots of explanations. If you are on Facebook there is a group called Holiday Cactus Lovers group with lots of helpful people. Most of them prefer to repot using a fifty fifty mix of potting soil and perlite. If you repot, tale your time and read up here. I'm happy to answer specific questions if you need it. My weekend will be busy so it might take a bit before I respond. If the clades on the fallen branch are withered, sometimes they can be saved by putting them i a ziplock baggie full of water for a day or two. Just flip the bag every day. I actually forgot about one for about two weeks and it had sprouted roots. Good luck!

Hi Ash..Lol.. I am begining to think you have a ton of different plants!! If I lived in Texas, I would definately find a buy to put a "shade cloth" above all my plants in a nice location in my yard...That is what the local nurseries do, including myself for any plants that can only tolerate shade or light in the heat of summer..I would have them planted in well draining soil, and squirt the house on them frequently, to make up for the lack of humid air.. They sell these shades cloths, all over the place, and I would assume more popular in your area..Some are pretty cool looking. Some look like sail boat shaped cloths that tie onto trees,and poles, or even homes..Many people sit under these which can bring the temps underneath them much lower, by 10-20 degrees cooler... For many, this is their only means of shade, since many people have no trees to bring shade to their homes alone, including my cousin who lives in Pheonix.. I hope this gives you a great idea..To me, it seems that every plant I have ever bought from a nursery, has always been provided bright diffused light, all day long, including these in which they thrive.. So,now I look for ways to provide bright diffused sunlight to most my plants that can not handle the full intense sun. Some even get very early morning sun in summer, or late in the day sun....Then, because I have trees , many type plants would end up hanging underneath them from branches getting dabbled light.. Pug... The ssp. tenuipes I have came from HD and is an EA plant. New growth is copper if given enough sunlight. It's a beautiful plant!! Cena... My ssp. tenuipes is budding up right now. I can't wait for it to bloom. I got a couple of blooms on it late winter or early spring this year and it was such a TEASE!! Beautiful AND frgrant! I can't wait... But you're right - this is a species that is an aggressive climber, and you have to keep it whacked back to keep it in check. But what a beauty! Denise in Omaha

Hello....I am Thai and probably the bidder who u called nuts. I think you are so wrong to be looking down on us. Though we, the Thais, are not the very first to collect sans but we do know what they are. Though we paid over priced and took the risk of getting the plants without phyto....we still have the guts to earn profit from it. If you do know who else has variegated sans for cheaper prices....feel free to let me know... For your information, the person who won the first pinguicula for $2,550....he already got 2 pups from that plant when he just got that plant for only 2 months! Oh yes!!! Many of the sans lovers here are chasing for them....for over $1,000 each. From my little experience, I have seen many variegated sans being propagated from leaf cuttings and still give variegated pups. The offsets from variegated mother can turn both variegated or green. Why are you being so pessimistic on us? Why do we need to use it for tissue culture when people will pay more for a rare san? If you have a chance.....please visit Thailand and bring me some variegated rare sans to sell me in your reasonable price ..... :) I am not mad but just want some respect since we are all sans lovers.
