They look lovely but I have just read Alice in Wonderland to my Granddaughter and one of the pictures has a row of roses with different colours on them, looked just like the ones in the post.

The only one that looks at all nice is the pink and white together - like coconut ice, but the blooms on iceberg and bonica are too different.
Has anyone seen a rose which is grafted all the way down the stem? Ken from Spring Park was describing one to me - 6 ft tall, and grafted all the way up and down. - sound fabulous, but also fabulously expensive.

I'm on the side of it's a bit of an eyesore. After having a few different colors and types of standards, I don't think you can beat Iceberg or Seduction -Flor. No more colors or HT's for me.

If you like them why not? It's your yard. Treloar had White and Burgundy Icebergs I think. I thought about it but am not sure where I would put them. So maybe next year. I thought the Iceberg/Bonica mix was quite nice.

Hi, My neighbour had a plant that had seven grafts on it. It grow to about 7 feet then the more dominant cultivars took over until the strugle ended up with only one surviving. Nice idea but,

I thought of that too....the stronger variety might take over.
You would have to know what you're doing.
I can't make up my mind.
It might be nice as a "special" point of interest?

It seems a bit sad really, although maybe for small gardens you might get away with it. I am constantly amazed by some of the horticultural contortions that are being marketed, like standard pompom camellias/daphnes! Still holding my tongue... what about some of the incompatible robust roses (Elina) budded onto those underweight skinny standards. Snap and say no more! Next season it will be.......?
