I'm having the same issue this year for the first time, with 5 seedlings in one bed. In Vermont, we also have had very wet weather this spring, so maybe that is the cause. For me, I'm just letting them grow where they are, but I've had to add trellises in odd parts of the garden for them to grow up. I'm planning to wait to see a bloom before I decide what to do with them permanently. The surprise factor is another thing I love about gardening.

What a beautiful seedling. It looks like a keeper to me. What is the parentage? It was nice you got to see what it looked like this year. The red anthers look so nice against the white sepals. You will have to post another picture when it fully opens. Karen

I really like S. Goliath and I'm guessing from the name that it's a big flower. I like your red spidery seedling too. Val

I got some great seedlings from Nina a few years ago. I knew what some of the crosses were going to be but others I didn't know til I got them. I was really surprised when they bloomed. Some were like what I thought they'd be others were a complete surprise. Thats the fun of seedlings, you never know what they'll look like til they finally bloom. Happy planting. Kim
