Wow, so beautiful. I'm so glad you shared that. I'm still waiting on mine to bloom. No idea on ID either. Was cutting three years ago, a gift, never bloomed for original owner. I hope mine is half as beautiful as yours.

I have a rule. Outside plants never come into my plant room and inside plants never go outside because they could never come back inside. Two reasons: 1. They could bring roaches in & roaches are pretty much the only thing that freaks me out…if i find one in the house, outside they dont bother me. 2. Other bugs. About 5 years ago a plant came back in for the winter and brought in scale & I'm still fighting it. So I grow my orchids inside. I posted about a week ago about rehoming my cattleyas because they'd never bloomed for me. The water, substrate and number of candle lights are good so I thought I must be missing something and wanted them to have a better home. Or maybe it's an age thing. Maybe they're too young. Well, since that last post this orchid and one of my cats have bloomed. Go figure. Jane and Harvey jump in here with suggestions if you read this post. And yes I know there is an orchid forum but I dont go there any more. watering all these orchids inside, about 20, is a real pain. I'm working on a new set up that will make it a lot easier. If it works I'll post it.

There's no set amount of time. Once the plant has stored enough energy (sunlight) to bloom again, then it will. Until then, just care for it and give it plenty of indirect sunlight. A few of mine still had older spikes from previous blooms, but I went ahead and removed them yesterday. They looked like they were going to bloom again, but I prefer the look of a fresh flower spike. One of my mini phals has begun to spike, but this spike is coming from the central growing point of the plant. Most people call them terminal spikes when they do that, but I find that the plants usually just send out an offshoot basal keiki.

Absolutely gorgeous lavender blooms! I'm so jealous. My cattleya died over the winter. I'm not sure if I will replace it as I have concluded that I am not so good with them. Yours is lovely.
