Something Similar to Phillip Gully's Harmony Series?

I make weekly trips to the public library to select books for my 90-year-old mother-in-law who is no longer able to get out and about very easily. It's a formidable task because she's a voracious and fast reader - not easy for me to keep up with. But it's also a fun task - I love browsing the shelves on her behalf.

Recently, I stumbled on Phillip Gully's Harmony series (novels narrated by a Quaker preacher about the fictional town of Harmony). Mrs. T loved them and went through them very quickly. I am wondering if anyone familiar with this series can recommend something similar I might pick up for her?

I love finding a series, or a certain author that she likes (Belva Plain being an example of the latter). She has also enjoyed several Sparrow Island Mysteries (because of the main character who is an elderly bird watcher, like Mrs. T herself) - but our library has only a few of them.
