Hi chaoticdreams, a good place to search is Helpmefind for roses. If you are a member, you can conduct an advanced search for deep red roses and specify what class or rose, what size of bush, bloom, fragrance but most importantly it looks as if you are in Florida therefore resistance to diseases like I am guessing blackspot etc. would be important, so you can add disease resistance that to your search too. Scroll through the ones that pop up and when you have found your favorites, ask the members for info regarding their experience with the roses you are considering. I live in a hot dry climate and have sought assistance from folks in a climate similar to mine. The forum members are extremely helpful and knowledgeable. You may get a Floridian or some other person dealing with conditions similar to yours who will chime in with suggestions. You can then go to help me find, search the rose, learn about all of its attributes and if it is popular you may see photos of the bloom and the bush. Because I landscape with roses, seeing the bush is always equally helpful. Btw.. I have grown Veterans Honor... the blooms are huge and the plant becomes rather tall 6' Crimson bouquet was bullet proof here and forms a nice looking plant. Europeana has deep red blooms and dark green healthy foliage Black Magic is a very deep red hybrid tea. It will grow to become 6' - 7' tall. I have not found it to ever be very floriferous. Chrysler Imperial and Oklahoma are deep reds... C.I. I believe is supposed to be fragrant but it was not for me here. Mr. Lincoln has great form and has lovely Hybrid Tea blooms but it becomes huge and will be leggy like many hybrid teas. It is not as deep of a red as compared to black magic but it is fragrant. I agree. Tree it is! Saturday is when I saw all those beauties. Loaded, loaded, loaded with buds! They had just been delivered and were being unwrapped but I just couldn't make up my mind which to get. Tree or shrub?? So I go back today to purchase the tree form and... They ALL look like they're half dead!!! WHAT THE? I mean they are drooping so badly like they haven't been watered in weeks! So I run to another Steins where they also just had some delivered. Same damned thing! My guess is they had come from a nice warm, comfy, cozy home and then were transported to an outdoor greenhouse and had forgotten their coats. Yep, I bet that's it! It hasn't been awful chilly at night but still down in the low 40's. I think a bit cool for the tropicals. Well I reluctantly walked away. I'm gonna give them the week to see how they recover and we'll see about a new home for one of them then.

Hi Amazin , sorry I'm new at this web stuff ( mostly just a lurker) and couldn't find were I wrote to you the 1st time ... me feel so dumb with this puter stuff... but yes I have 9 begonias and 6 are from Logee's, some are named and other are ( pass a along's ) ..... Named ones= Begonia " Richardsiana" B." Snow Capped " B. "Tea Rose" B. "Hot Tamale" B. "Good and Plenty " B, "Tiny Gem " B. " Silver Queen " The Richardsiana has in pass week took a big flop , and so not sure whats up with it , taken it back into house , hope it was just heat stroking from 100 + daze we have been in for pass couple of weeks here in nastyville , so not sure about it. Two other's unknown named ones but pretty just the same and last one I think mite be B. " Sophia Cecile " not sure. I see you have " My Special Angel " have been looking at it in the catalogs . sorry I'm so long winded.... but sure there must be something in your long list that we can work with . P.s. I wont make it to any plant swap so..... not sure how we would do this if we've a mind to ???? But thanks for your time and effort if thats the only way .

I'm new to gardening, too. most I what I do know is completely theoretical (i.e. I read about gardening online more than I actually garden!) so I'm still in the highly trial-and-error phase of gardening! I'll be curious to hear how your bottlebrush does...they have those planted as landscaping plants in a thoroughfare near me and I wonder what they are doing right now. Though, I highly doubt we will see any white stuff here.
