Hi Carol, Thanks so much! Sorry about the sideways photo, I couldn't figure out how to rotate this photo on my mother in law's computer..lol. Have a great evening. Olyveoil...(O: >

Good to know! I almost gave it a buzz cut this morning!!! It looks so good in our bathroom (almost like a spider plant) but as I see the little pitchers growing, I wondered if the stems were not wasting the plant's energy to grow more. I often see pictures of pitcher plants with very few stem (only stems are the ones with pitchers attached) so I thought maybe this was the secret. I was ready to cut 3 off which would have broken the spell of the room. If it doesn't bother my plant I will let it be! :) Can you tell me which fertilizer you use? You mentioned a fertilizer with bat guano? You have a Source? A link? I don't trust the ones in store here (limited options).

I would say that most of my Sarracenias & Nepenthes have come from Lowes and secondarily from Home Depot. After that, I have received plants via trades and generosity of CP forum growers. The trouble with going to Lowes or home Depot is that the workers haven't a clue as to how to take care of them. Consequently, they could be in very bad shape and need to be nursed back to health. buting online is expensive, although I've never attempted it. Obtaining from other hobbyists is very cheap, possibly free or just for the cost of Priority shipping ($4.05), but you don't get to see what you are getting. Personally, I like to check our Lowes and see whatthey have, if anything, or anything worthwhile. ~95% of my CP collection have come from responding to trading forum offerings and cultivating friendships within the CP community. My collection is relatively weak when it comes to having extra Sarracenias & Nepenthes, and I've already given or pledged to others. Otherwise, I'd offer some starter plants. In contrast, I am strongest with sundews, which I find to be most appealing. There's nothing like looking at sundews glistening in the afternoon sun! See what I mean? Here's my meager Sarr & Nep collections:

with a house plant.. NEVER confuse what it would do in its native habitat.. with what it can do.. indoors ... why is your house plant not outdoors for summer???? and if you want to try such.. NO DIRECT SUN EVER .... tuck it on the north side of a house... even full shade outdoors is significantly more intense than indoors.... it would need to be hardened off to light... before allowed any sun ... if ever .... you dont mention where you are.. so i dont know if it can ever be put in full sun ... FL is much different than say.. WI ... welcome to GW .... come back often ... ken
