I have never heard of a yellow iceberg - but I guess Gold Bunny could be used if you wanted a lovely yellow florabunda that flowers just as well as iceberg with great disease resistance.

Yellow iceberg has been advertised in a few gardening magazines. Just cant find them at the moment, but i think it was a Treloars ad. If i find it i will let you know.

I found it....Wallara Gardens has it and so do Brindabella Gardens Qld.
Not a relative of THE Iceberg but, according to the blurb, with all the same characteristics (?).
My sister is going to get it....I'll let you all know.

Hi. I saw this rose at the Melbourne Flower and Garden Show. To be frank I think that the company is betting that the 'iceberg' name will make more people buy the rose.
Charmwell roses from America have released a rose which they say looks like ÂIceberg but is smaller, growing to just 50cm, with yellow flowers.
ÂGolden Iceberg is a free flowering, almost thornless bush rose with golden blooms fading to soft lemon. Charmwell roses are only available through mail order from Wallara Roses in Victoria sales@wallararoses.com.au, phone 03 59 648382.

Well, our family now has 2.
My sisters and I went to Brindabella yesterday and they bought one each. I thought I did well....I only came away with Chandon and Hocus Pocus....although France Libre almost came too.
I thought it looked quite ordinary...I already have several yellows...Freisa, Gold Bunny, Olympic Gold and an unknown. I didn't see anything so particular about it that I would want another...not with so many others on my Hit List.
The name would be the only real reason that I would try it and it isn't even related.
which brings up an interesting point.....wouldn't you think that the name "Iceberg" would be a "protected" name.
I can't think of the term I want...like Coca Cola is what I mean.
I'm sure that if another company tried to bring out a drink and called it "Cherry Coca Cola", they would have something to say about it.

'Iceberg' is a word in the english language. Coca Cola and Kellog aren't for instance. You can't protect a commonly used word from being used in a plant name, you can only protect a plant from being reproduced vegetatively and sold (PBR).
You could name any plant names such as "Sunken Iceberg", "floating Iceberg" etc, and register it as such. You couldn't call a rose "Coca-Cola" without the permission of the company.
I think there are far to many roses playing on the use of the Iceberg rose name. I won't buy them on principal. I would probably be far more interested in "Golden Iceberg" if it was a rose by any other name.

It really didn't impress me one way or the other.
It looked lovely and healthy but then 99.9999999% of Brindabella's roses are lovely and healthy and, if they can't make it look good, what hope would I have?

Well, that's my point.....the only real reason one would try it, would be the connection to the real Iceberg.

Evening all, do we know it's parents. It could be a sport (ha ha), I think it is not related, if it was, would it be not pbr,d or listed on the (great) amr society annual. The other forum lists that it MIGHT have come out of a test tube, I agree, Regards as always, David.
