I like the wall left there too. The separation when guests come in, and hang their coats etc, is very nice to have. I would leave it just like it is.. I agree, you have things tore apart, so go one step further and have the pop corn ceilings removed.

Hire a professional designer. It always confounds me why someone would go on an online forum that is populated 95% by regular homeowners with no landscape design training and expect a very positive outcome. It's like design by a committee that really doesn't know the subject.........never turns out good. The greater Seattle area has scores of skilled and extremely talented landscape designers - some of the best on the West Coast. And in every price range - design services are very affordable. They can help you generate a layout that will address all your wants and needs and in an aesthetically pleasing and PNW suited style. And I wouldn't be overly concerned about a need for shade protection in this area :-) We are not known for intense sun and summer heat and most Seattleites would prefer to bask in full sun whenever they have the opportunity.....which is not always that often, even in summer.

I used "round table topper, metal" and found a lot, but they're rather plain, and not very cheap. Edited to add: I don't think you will find a topper exactly like the one in your link. As someone said, it's an actual table with fabric attached. Good luck.
