i am trying to locate a miniature rose called KRISTIN..no luck in w a as yet, does anyone have this rose or know where I could obtain it? saw it in botanicas pocket rose guide.

I did a google Aus search and Kristin/Pirouette can be found at this nursery-gorgeous looking little rose.

Hi Lime, I have Winsome and Santa Claus near minature roses, an un-named salmon colored minature which looks like Sonja, and a yellow minature. I do not know anything about their hardiness, I live in a zone where I do not have to worrry about that to much. Tell me more about your daffodils and your lilies. Kathy

Our topic really belongs to the Gesneriads. But I truly believe that AV people need to try differnt Gesneriads - because the growing conditions are similar and they create more interest and variety in your collection. AVs only - is like a monoculture. Like people who grow an outside garden - do not cover all their vegetable garden with spinach only. They grow different veggies. And if they grow Roses - they do not usually grow 600 roses, they plant other blooming plants - for spring and for fall and for dog days of summer.

I’m having good luck with these 3 Chamaecyparis pisifera ”Golden Pin Cushion”. First pic is a close up of the middle one in row of 3 - it’s the largest one, 2nd pic shows all 3. They were planted 7/2019. I also have 2 Little Gems around in border on the other side of this lawn & they are both doing well in same conditions. These Golden PC’s get quite yellow in summer - this yard faces West. I have trimmed the new growth of the largest one of these because it’s growing too enthusiastically & you can see it has a smallish space between the lawn & stone path. That’s a problem here in PNW - all the rain & mild winters makes many plants grow as though on steroids.

I have been watering them and letting them drain. They are hanging in there … They have also lost all their leaves. The orange one has some new growth coming back. The one with the yellow tray is still hanging in there. The one in the green container still has green stalks. I added worm castings before I figured out they had fertilizer burn. Then I removed some of that when I found out they had fertilizer burn. I have been watering them daily to try and water down the fertilizer and emptying the plant trays of excess water. I have gotten a new water soluble fertilizer to use next time I fertilize that apparently will not burn the roots. I also have some new rose specific soil with no fertilizer in it to repot the roses if needed. What else should I be doing?

I had Piroutte for ages (until I did something utterly stupid) and it was the most gorgeous little rose.
I seem to remember that mine was a bit more cream than that but it was a while ago and you know my memory. :))

Pirouette(Kristen/BENmagic)is a Frank Benardella rose and if it's not available at Treloars than try Australian Roses. I know for sure it's in their catalogue but I am not sure wether or not they retail. Of course they could always tell you of somebody who does.
