It was very dissapointing. If you needed the super duper wonder wiper then there were plenty of those type of stalls.
I wanted to look at a power pole pruner, but little in the way of power equipment there.
Bought a Green Bat plant and a new type of blue ginger. then went down to the 'Palm Place' and bought a lot of Cordylines.
Nice day out though, made a change from working in the garden.

I had a friend (hopefully) pick up the new magazine for me - any feedback on that?

I don't understand the "standard cords are not meant to be flexible" part. All electrical cords that I own are flexible (not rigid) My hairdyer is connected to the outlet behind a drawer in my vanity. It's no different than if it (hairdryer) was sitting on top of my vanity and plugged into the wall just above the vanity. It's used the same way, it's just placed lower and out of sight. The bulk of the cord is IN the drawer that my hairdyer is in. Monica

This might explain it. Q: My husband and I have been looking to buy a home and, as we've toured neighborhoods, we see houses with real estate signs, but we can't find the homes on the multiple listing service for several days. How long does it take for agents to post information? A: It takes only a few minutes, but the agents aren't putting the information in right away. By their guidelines, real estate agents are supposed to post a listing on the multiple listing service within 48 hours after the home is for saleâmeaning a sign in the yard. I'll bet, though, you're seeing this on Thursdays or Fridays. Agents have told me they like to start advertising homes on a Thursday because that 48-hour window doesn't include non-business days. So if a sign goes in a yard on a Thursday, the agent would not have to put the home on the MLS until Monday. That would give him Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday to possibly sell that home with no other agent involvedâmeaning he would get the whole commission.

IMO, agents are used to prices bouncing up and down on listings, so it probably does not bother them to see small movements. But as a buyer who watched listings for several years before purchasing, it would signal a possibly indecisive seller. And that would probably affect my offer and negotiation strategy. Not necessarily in a terrible way, but it would cause me to negotiate in smaller increments--to allow the indecisive seller time to "get used to the idea of my offer", instead of assuming they were firm about their price/counter. Replies might also get sent closer to the deadline, to allow for maximum thinking time. A few changes, such as yours, are not that big a deal--it is the ones that change three or more times in a two week period, or bounce them up and down for months to keep the house in the changed category, that really scream of game-playing. My searches were about $35k under our minimum, and $75k over our target price. Anything lower brought up trashed foreclosures. The higher range allowed for a heads-up on homes that may have price drops that would put them into our range. Your price is probably close enough to bring in your target buyers. Your house should be on top, now that those two other ones have sold. ;-) Good luck with your sale!

Since you are saying oak or maple, it sounds like they havent been started yet to build?? If so, choose the oak over maple. Maple gets blotchy when stained, and is really better off painted. Make sure you specify that you want the grain to show through, so they do not use a solid color stain. Transparent, or semi transparent, is the type of stain, and please get a sample before you say yes, so its right when the cabinets are done.

Picked up a couple of rare palms and a couple of unusual Dracaenas. The display for The International Tropical Foliage and Garden Society was well received. We picked up at least 15 new members and sold quite a few back copies of Tropical Topics our tropical gardening magazine, along with Cordyline CD's and Cordyline books.

Alison, I was told by a friend yesterday that it was a bit of a wash-out. I'd asked her to get me a copy of the new magazine. I haven't had a chance to have a good look at it, but it looks interesting.

I thought the Nambour Show was great, got to catch up with friends I haven't seen in years. I managed to fit alot of plants in the wagon to bring home. I picked up 6 foliage Anthuriums, even managed to buy a couple of cordylines that I didn't have, plus other plants. As a Sydneysider, I thought I was in heaven with all those tropical plants there. Can't say we enjoyed our trip through Tweed Heads and the Gold Coast on Thursday the 30th.
The new magazine 'subTropical Gardening' is fantastic, I brought 6 copies back to Sydney as it won't be available here until Gardening Australia Festival at the end of August.

The magazine isn't too bad is it? I liked your article, it might inspire a few more gardeners down way to have a go at the tropical style.

I'd give it 5 out of 10. There were a few good stalls to look at plus a load selling the usual ****. It was great if you were interested in food preparation, septic tanks or concrete bits for 'adorning' the garden. I'd hoped to find some info on mist propagation units but was disappointed. Some of the plant stalls were good but I won't be rushing to go there next year.
I looked at the new magazine and thought it quite good.

Thanks and I hope it does inspire a few down here to go tropical, I haven't read it. Paul has done a fantastic job with the magazine, very high quality.
