Kasie - I've tried the traps. I bought 2, and have set them each about 20x. Not one single gopher. I have found the "giant destroyer" brand bombs that seemed to be working, so I'm not giving up on gassing. The putzy red and black ones they've been stocking at HD and Lowes have been useless - I end up digging them up, un detonated. If (when...sigh...) this happens again, I will try to see if I can get rootstock to again produce roots - mostly as an experiment. I've tossed 2 of my losses: Angel Face - WILL replace, Tantalizing Red - will not replace, then Pink Peace had some tiny straggling roots left, and I chopped her down to about the relative size of her remaining roots leaving all the low leaves I could, and replanted her and am soaking her daily. She isn't dead yet... Caged 3 more roses last night after coming home from work - Bolero (missing all but a few feeder roots), Young Lycidas (whoppee - roots intact), and Intrigue (most roots intact). That now makes a total of 8 now caged. Just about 70 something to go. It's a good start. !

I have Duet that doesn't leak. However, I think I do know the usual culprits. Easier if you can say where on the floor underneath you see the puddle. Did the service man run a load or just look at it? Did he open the pump-filter and look at it? Not sure what you meant by saying "he couldn't find any reason for it to be leaking."" That lower panel underneath the door of the machine is held on by three screws. Once you remove it, you'll be able to see all around in there. First thing I would do is put a towel down underneath the white plastic drain filter and then screw off its cover. (Towel will catch about a pint of water that spills out.) Of course if there's anything in there, do remove it. But what I really want you to do is notice how easily that cover comes off (you should have to work at it a little...if it's loose, it certainly will leak) and look at the o-ring seal on the cap and see if its been twisted or damaged. After that, I would dry everything and then leave the panel off. The next time you run the machine, look in there and notice where the puddle is forming. That will lead you to the next place to look....which I'll bet will be one of the internal hose connections. In any event, I'd wager the problem will be easy to find and easy to fix. There aren't that many places for the leak to come from. Since you say it "runs out on the floor", I'd be betting on that drain filter.

Hi looser, I got the 800!!!! It was somewhat of a rush decision since, although my machines were working, I've been getting a lot of staining on clothes for a while. The other day I opened the washer and it was full of water - Oooooh Noooo!!! I was washing brand new towels, but hadn't overloaded it. I think the machines are just old and run down. I was able to find another cycle to get it to empty, but it's happened before and the machines were making noises. So, I called my kitchen appliance dealer and they let me switch some kitchen appliance off an open ticket, to add the Bosch set (this way I wouldn't loose my discounts from a special sale). I'll buy the appliances when they have another sale. I just didn't want any more stains, rust and oil, on anything else so I just went ahead and took the plunge. I'm glad you mentioned that the 800 has more flexible cycles. The salesman told me it did, but to have it validated here works for me. They had a 500 on sale, but it didn't seem to have the individual features of the Duet. The Manager really sold me - I think because of this forum, he was willing to "talk" to me about details. It will be here tomorrow afternoon - NEVER thought I'd be excited about a washing machine and dryer. Just hope I'll be just as excited when my granite is installed!! BTW, I almost did get the Duet, but for the money, they would have been almost as much as the Bosch.
