i lost mine to the freeze this year i would like some cuttings i don't need them rooted i have a white/yellow that maybe survived, so some color would be nice email me thanks check my trade list or can work something out for postage i'm in zones 6 and 9

Had no idea these cuttings would be so popular! I can give one to each of you who posted, providing that bodiggly wants the one that I already stuck in a pot to root and that trinity gardener will settle for a short one. No guarantees that they'll survive the US post office :( Those of you who need them mailed, please email me you names and addresses. That's all I have at the moment. I have no idea what it's called. The plant was here when I moved in. The former gardener brought the cutting from Hawaii. But she planted it too close to the walkway. I hate to cut it, but my loss is your gain.

In its first year in the ground, the Frangipani branch still has the programing from the parent tree in its cells and has already prepared for a new seasons flowering. If you let this happen it will pull energy and nutrients for flowering out of the reserves from within the cutting, as it has not got sufficient roots. This will weaken and delay its ability too develop a selfsufficient root system. This could explain no flowers in the second season that happened with Amelie above. Developing sufficient roots can take at least a season or two, but after that you will have an excellent plant. Grub, it may flower first season, but if it was me I would knock off any flower buds as early as possible in its first year. Feed with Seasol or any other root stimulant to encourage root development. That way you will get a much better plant in a few short years. It is a bit like us when we have go down with the dreaded lurgy. We need a bit of time and feeding up to get our energy back, so we can push that wheelbarrow.

How did you want to get them? several options...you could come here (and you could see what else I have!!) or I could post them or do you ever come into the Valley on a Saturday for the markets? 'cos I actually work in the Valley and I start work this Saturday at 3pm. I could meet you somewhere and just hand them over. As for Broms, I love the different varieties of Queens Tears you can get. Haven't a clue what the real name is, I'm afraid. PS another one that I'm about to cut back is Singapore White. It's the one that doesn't lose its leaves (or not as much!) and is a dead white with small yellow centre.
