WANTED: coloured frangipani cuttings north Bris

cutting back some of my frannies and wondered if anyone would like some. I have reds, oranges, lemons, tri/bi colours.

Ahh I've been looking for orange for such a long time! I'm on the Southside and finally found a red Fangipani on council land this morning!! So I snapped a branch off :) Do you still have the orange available? I can trade with you I have many broms, tomato plants, greek basil, etc. Or if your looking for something else just ask :)

hi, nearly had a fit when I saw your reply.... because I cut them all back yesterday afternoon and they went out with the rubbish this morning....EXCEPT THE ORANGE!!! for some reason yesterday, I just didn't do that one. The Hand of Fate moves in mysterious ways!!!!!!! How far southside are you? I'm in Petrie, about as north as you can get and still be in Brisbane :):):) I am fond of Broms. cheers Annie

Below text was extracted from other link, i hope it will help you. The most common cause of frangipanis dying is by rot. If a potted frangipani plant is watered too much or too often (especially in cooler weather), the soil will remain wet and the stem may start to rot at the base. This known as "wet feet". The rot will travel up the stem and probably end up killing the whole plant. Sometimes rot can start on a branch. Rot can be found in a stem or branch by noticing that it is more wrinkled, soft or black inside. Softness can be checked by squeezing the branch. Piercing a branch or stem will show if the inside contains sap. If the plant is healthy the white liquid will start to flow out and the cut will heal naturally, similar to when an animal or person has a cut and the blood clots.if the stem becomes wrinkled the tree is not well Â¡V cease watering and spray leaves with AntiRot. If you notice spongy stems, remove the stem completely to the junction with a main branch. Thinning out 15 to 20 per cent of the canopy of your mature frangipani is good to do every few years; it opens up the branches, allows light in and reduces stem rot.

Hi Sam, I'm in Nhulunbuy, same conditions. If your frangipani cutting is still firm and has green tips don't worry. I don't even worry about drying them out up here. Just throw them in the general direction of some dirt!!(stick it in the soil) Pretty soon you've got a frangipani tree. Depending on which type you have, many frangipanis are deciduous. It will grow some leaves soon or at least as soon as it starts to get warmer, if not, e-mail me and Ill send you some. I've got some nice colours and types. Good luck, Brendon

How to prune a HUGE frangipani??

Leah, I think frangis are pretty hardy and it is too early for them to loose leaves just yet, mine are still flowering. You can prune at any time, warm weather is better as it does not set them back that much, also taking cuttings is better in summer despite many recommendations to do it in winter. I trimmed my daughter's frangi and as it was flowering put it in wet sand in a nice vase in the house. It was about 2-3 months ago. Once the flowers droped, followed by old flowers it reshot and now has new fresh leaves. I never watered it. I would not bother with transplanting your tree if it is big. Just cut the biggest branch, let it dry for a week or two and replant it where you want it, you do not have to water it in winter, nature will do it for you. By the way don't you think we had lovely rain over the last two days :-).

I think that's just about the best news I've had all week :), I'm at Moorooka, near where Evans Rd meets Beaudesert Rd. Talk about opposite ends of Bris lol I've got plenty of Broms, any colours in particular you were looking for? My miniatures, mediums and large have just had plenty of pups, just waiting on the giants now :)

Hi, I've put a photo of it in the Gallery. How did you want to get them? several options...you could come here (and you could see what else I have!!) or I could post them or do you ever come into the Valley on a Saturday for the markets? 'cos I actually work in the Valley and I start work this Saturday at 3pm. I could meet you somewhere and just hand them over. As for Broms, I love the different varieties of Queens Tears you can get. Haven't a clue what the real name is, I'm afraid.
PS another one that I'm about to cut back is Singapore White. It's the one that doesn't lose its leaves (or not as much!) and is a dead white with small yellow centre.
