Camellias...1st attempt at posting pics.

Okay, here we go. I've been sick at home for a week, so I thought I would get something positive out of it and attempt this picture posting caper.

Some Camellias from my garden, especially for MM, who helped me with this (although she probably doesn't remember, it was so long ago lol).

I didn't think it would be quite like this, but at least I've put something on after all this time. I'll have to work at it!

Hi Dee Now dont go getting upset or anything it easy all you do is this.

You can only put images on 60kbs or less so you have to reduce them.. First make a copy if you dont know how to do any of these two let me know but a quick way of reducing is to send your pic to yourself on a email

Type your post then PREVIEW it and below your typed message you will see
Image file to upload (optional):------------ BROWSE ( button )
Press the BROWSE button and it will take you into your computer find your pic make sure it is the right one then click SUBMIT

If you want to be able to view your pics before you SUBMIT then you have to upload them to a website like photobucket now I remember sending you those instructions ....Cheers..MM.

Yay it worked-I've got more to post when I get a sec. Looks like I need to tweak the size/resolution. Thanks for the compliments VGtar and DaisyLover! Yes, the middle is a coleus called Peter's Wonder-it's a nice one. There's a blue wave petunia, purple nierembergia, pink profusion zinnia, and a stipa grass-I think the light green is a Kabitan hosta in the ground. I love container gardening and have some more experiments to share once I get them over to Photobucket. Happy planting!

Patrick, which code to use depends on the internet site. Different sites require particular types of code to be used in threads. Here, full size images will be displayed using the 'tag' code that is automatically displayed beneath each pic in your Photobucket album. That is how usually post single images in threads. There is also a little check box next to each of your pics, and a button at the bottom of each page to "generate html and img code" that creates a new page with code for clickable thumbnails. Use the first line of code for use in this forum (html clickable thumbnails). This is useful if you have a whole bunch of photos to display and don't want to make pages load slowly for those with slow internet connections. They can then decide to click and wait for a full size image, or not. You should see your picture or thumbnail in the preview screen when creating a post here at GW. If not, check the code again before submitting. Once you firgure out which links work, it is easy. I saw some of your garden on another site and am glad to help. Thank you all for the lovely comments! I really enjoy "raising" this garden. Even though we have been in this house for a while, I have "rolled up my sleeves" two years ago. Treelover, the groundcover between the patio stones are some of my many experiments. First photo - blue star creeper and creeping thyme. Third photo - corsican mint, one of my favorite. It's a very low growing, spreads rapidly. Last photo - miniature mondo grass, not a best choice. I will replant it some place else, and replace with...whatever I can find on sale that spreads nicely, stays green in winter, and low-growing/steppable kind. Will post more pictures later, since now I know how. Yay! ~Natalie

Need a user name and password to enter. The best way to post pictures is to open a(free)Photobucket account. Your pics are automatically resized for posting. Copy the HTML code below the pic and post it in your message. You'll be able to see the pic in the post preview. Hope this helps.

dee...dont be discouraged.
Once you get the hang of it you'll be doing it easily.
I use photobucket and I find it very good.
There is a help page for everything.
Keep trying ..its nice to see your photos up on the screen.You can then use them for wallpaper and send the photos to friends and relatives.
It is a whole new way to communicate.

Yes keep going, we all had a first time at posting here, and sometimes MANY false starts but it's terrific when you finally succeed.
