Seeking info on cordylines from subtropical Oz

I am from the US and am looking for people who have tried growing some of the different cordylines in the hot and humid parts of Australia. I know fruticosa will grow there and australis generally fails (as they do here), but was wondering how some of these newer types such as Cordyline caruba, nigra or red baueri perform there. I'd also be interested if there are any interesting color forms or hybrids with your native species such as stricta, possibly crossed with fruticosa etc. Thanks in advance
