I cool my hyacinth bulbs in the refrigerator for 3 month's and then let them bloom inside in January and February, during the coldest, more miserable period. Very cheery.

I/ve never put Hyacinths in the frig only Tulips that we kept in the crisper. Now awaiting the result as they haven't shown up as yet.It's fun waiting to see the outcome of the winter plantings.
Th e weather has been good.heavy rain early June and now cold nights but lovely days ,up to 17 yesterday. My Grandfather
used to tell me that his Father who came to Australia from Leeds in the 1860's that a Melbourne Winter was just like a Yorkshire

Years ago, Hyacinth bulbs, where available already chilled. Today, those are hard to find, hence the fridge crisper use.

Not many pics at the moment jjust waiting for the bulbs to flower.
we've had a bit of cold weather but not much rain. I see it has been bucketing down in parts of NSW so I hope you are getting some. I put some garlic in to be ready abt January but we also use the leaves in salads and soup.
