Planning an ethnobotanical trip up North...

Hi Tropical plant buffs. My partner and I run a small spice business from home (Adelaide) and are planning a trip to the Daintree region FNQ later this year. We grow many mediterranean herbs and spices but are particularly interested to see tropical herb and spice species, i.e. pepper, vanilla, cinnamon, ginger, cloves, etc. We are having trouble finding out if anyone grows these kinds of things and would prefer to arm ourselves with as much knowledge as possible before we head up there. Can anyone suggest who might be able to help us in our quest?
