Favourite Ixora ?

One of the things I am trying to do in my new garden is mix-and-match native and exotic species effectively : the native palms, ferns and shrubs forming the predominately green background and the exotic plants (mainly cordyline, croton, gardenia and ixora) providing splashes of colour. Its hardly ground-breaking stuff, but the huge variation in form, foliage and flowering habit make it a challenge.

Although I initially had a policy of 'nothing-under-a-metre' when selecting sub-shrubs such as Ixora, I find that I am increasingly drawn to the dwarf varieties. I dont have a lot of experience with Ixora, having relied on natives for every layer in the past, so I'm keen to hear feedback from others.

Happy trails,

Artie
