Hort Lvr is right in identifying the plant as Ficus b. The fig's common name is 'weeping fig', and it gets that name from the propensity of it's branches to grow in a pendulous or weeping habit. There's not much you can do about that aspect of the growth habit w/o knowing something about pruning and wiring, unless you stake some stems. It would be helpful if you added where you live to your user info. The advice we might give someone in FL as opposed to MN, could be quite different. This is a challenge over the net. Lolol If you trust me, the first thing I want you to do is prune off all the little dead branches - clean the tree up so you can see more clearly what you're working with. Then, set the plant on a table so you can walk around it or turn it. Picture an imaginary sphere in your mind that contains about 1/2-3/4 of the mass occupied by the wild branching. Then, shorten every branch that sticks out beyond that imaginary sphere. When you're done with that, every branch that hasn't had the growing tip removed, should have that done. Ask, if there is something you don't understand or if you want to know WHY I'm telling you to do something. That will stop ALL branch extension for now and force back-budding. Clearly what you have is not the species r. maximum. It's also very, very unlikely that it's a selection or even a hybrid involving r. maximum because these would share the very late blooming trait you wanted. As an educated guess, I'd say what you have is the hybrid Roseum Maximum. This has always been an unfortunate and confusing name. It is an old-time English hybrid of r. ponticum and has nothing at all to do with the native N. American species maximum. It's easy to see, however, how labels could wind up reading "Rhododendron Maximum - pink." I don't think you would make yourself a "problem client" by asking to receive what you had requested and paid for. The landscaper may wind up losing on the labor end, but the wholesaler bears the responsibility for providing correctly labeled plants. (One could suggest that a landscaper or grower ought to be able to easily recognize the difference between r. maximum leaves and those of other varieties as well.) Of the three parties involved, you the client are entirely blameless. Roseum Maximum (assuming that's what you have) will never bloom late, will not grow as well in as much shade, and will not attain the great height and width of what you wanted. I'd say you have every reason to hold the landscaper and grower accountable.

If it was my place, I would weed really good around the roses and wait for spring to see what happens and then document the roses as they start blooming. Kind of looks like there might be a fun rose treasure hunt out there.

I have all three. Piilu has never produced double flowers for me in over four years. I have seen others with double blooms on theirs so don't know if the doubles are more prevalent in cooler climates or what since I am zone 7a. Ramona is a purple type II clematis that habitually browns out in my growing zone during the heat of the summer, as do most type IIs. Romantika is a very deep purple and did fabulously well in my garden last year after being planted in the early spring.
