Just a view over part of the garden from under the cassia Paluma Range looking towards the house (which is on the right and not quite visible), and garden arch over which grows 2 golden mandevileas and 2 (now struggling) clematis - it's a bit too warm here for clematis.

Looks lovely and green.
Our spring has started, at long last.
Most of the lawns need mowing already.
Most trees are green and fruit trees are in blossom.

Lovely views!! And beautiful daylilies. Yes, they open new ones every day now, so exciting. I like Raspberry Fantasy, Beautiful Edgings and South Seas the most. My Strutter's Ball was doing great until I divided it this year. What an adventure for your little Babe.. Poor thing. I hope he'll now be afraid of that or any other big trees! His twin brother Max here climbed.. me the other day. I sure was scared it happened so quickly! Thankfully the scratches on the chest, neck and head were minor, but I was in a kind of shock for hours.

Thanks everyone, By "very dated" I meant awkward - thats as kind as I can be. The best label I can come up with for this house style is contemporary mountain. But this bathroom was late 70's early 80's uber country, I couldn't see how it fit with the rest of the home. But after many many hours looking at design photos I think I can make it work visually, it just really doesn't seem very practical. But I guess practical isn't everything! We have had 3 pre-1850's houses before, so I understood them in that context, it just took me a while to see that it a claw foot could also work in a more contemporary setting. sushipup1 - I'm not terribly worried about the first round of interest rate hikes - maybe I should be - but when we bought in spring 2004 rates were on the rise and it seemed like houses were snapped up as fast as they were listed because buyers were trying to get in before the rates went higher. Anyway thats what I'm telling myself. Plus we are moving to the other side of the country and wanted to give DH time to settle into his new job before having to decide on a new place to live.

Not only do I present that view, but more often than not I'm wearing that one t-shirt that gaps open wide in front when I bend forward showing the world what I got. Like mnwsgal, I keep an eye and ear on the road so I can stand up quickly or pull my shirt back tight. ugh.

Nice pictures! The butterflies can't seem to resist the tithonia. I planted a lot in all of my beds and the monarchs went nuts for it. Great nector plant! Your so lucky to have so many different cats and butterflies. Thanks for sharing Sandy

Certainly looks nice Bill. Seems like you've had some rain. we have had a dry Autumn with Irises and other Spring bulbs sprouting.I'm curious to
know how they are going to finish up. I've still got rhe Tulips in the crisper
and will wait a few more weeks to plant them, unless we get a good cold spell,which doesn't seem likely.

Yeah, inga, we're into autumn (fall) here and the lawn is giving us (me) a bit of a rest. As for rain, Chas, we had plenty in early Autumn/late summer, but the last 6 weeks have been rather dry again and I've been connecting up the hose once more. A bit of a break from maintenance but now I've got to consider the winter jobs; rocks to dig out, new gardens to get underway; bloody 'ell, it never stops!
