Hello in Los Angeles area only. I am in Santa Monica. I have some very healthy stalk cuttings of Dahlia Imperialis. These grow 12 to 18 FEET tall, with hundreds of lavender pink flowers in Oct.Bees LOVE them. I have had success with these,especially if you are in a coastal canyon, and now have more plants than room. They are big, lush plants which require sturdy stakes for support. I will advise how to grow, or if you already know great! These stalk pieces were cut sunday, the sooner they are in the ground the better. I don't have time to mail, so LOCALS ONLY come pick up, I can show you pics of the plants this last year.

I have wondered if this post belongs in the Peony department as I am not familiar with "pink tree dahlias" or "white pompom dahlias".

Whoopie! Thanks so much for those nursery names. I tried the first three and got the same results I got on my own...none in stock or not shipping. But on that last one JACKPOT! They had multiple types. I'm ordering the double lavender. I live in Tampa so no problem growing them here. They did have a minimum...which first meant I had to get three plants. I was going to offer the other two for trade/sale, but then started cruising their catalog and had no problem then hitting that minimum, lol. Thanks again, Lori

Hi there and welcome, I tried them in zone 7, they grew tall but no flowers. I think they are kind of speciality plants for plant geeks. I am not familiar with your zone, could be that they start better next year. As far as I know you don`t grow those for the showy flowers, rather because they are special. So, I was given one as well, about 4 years, a gift from my dad... (both kind of plant geeks...) not sure whether that helps, bye, Lin
