Your story about the long ago seeds is interesting, I have been saving seeds that was my dear friends, she is gone now and I keep planting them in her memory. I like the large crested ones. I bought some small plants , eight inch tall last year,but they didnt survive. I like the large flowers much better. I have grown them for several years. The seeds are easy to save. They come up volunteer each year.

Searching the scarce information about Hort16a growing guidelines, I have found this document (sorry, again in French) dated in January 2001, when Hort16a was a novelty. If you don't understand french, I have extracted, in my opinion, the most important things for Hort16a growing (it probably is useful for Hort16a seedling too): - It is more vigorous than Hayward - It is very productive. The fruits are disposed along all the cane. - The percentage of non-fruiting buds is less important than in hayward (30% against 50%). - There aren't double or flat fruits. - The branching habit over the cane is with spur trend, which permits (when the number of replacement canes aren't enough) to keep a cane for a second year of production. - Due to its vigor, it is necessary 4 to 5 pruning passes during the summer, instead of 2 to 3 for Hayward. - In the case of "T" bar training, the Hort16 vigor is stressed in the bent of the cane. It is better a pergola training. - When grafted on adult Hayward rootstocks, it is capable to make the 70% of the canopy in the first year. We can obtain the full yield in 3 years. - It is cropped before Hayward, but it is the flesh color what determines the crop date.

Hi I'm 16 and know all about it! All you parents think you can just talk to your kids keep them to limited time with there boyfriends and have there trust to go to the moves malls ect.. but strict parents only make sneaky kids leaving the places they say they are parents don't really know what they are doing unless they are there to watch them summer school its not hard To leave and meet up with a guy and do stupid things... its not really in the parents control when their son/ daughter is going to give up their purity. Do you really think our generation is that stupid we do have brains not always doing the smartest thing but we do know what's right and wrong trust me I have done everthing my parents thought they could prevent from happing condoms are something u should give ur kids no matter how much u think u trust them or before u know it they will be teen moms/ dads witch could have been easily prevented but its better to give protection because we don't always think before we get warped up and there's nothing u can do after!! That one kiss that goes too far might be the one that changes their whole life!!! Think about it.

First of all, you can't give her the car. She's a minor and I don't think can actually own one. Certainly a person without a license can't register a car. IF you let her use the car, but keep it in your name, you're going to be liable for any and all damages she causes--if she smashes the car into a fence, or drives down the street drunk at 2:30 in the morning and side-swipes a dozen parked cars, if she runs over a toddler and kills him. She's 16--by definition, she's irresponsible, and sadly, hasn't even had any kind of good example at home to learn responsibility. What on earth makes you think there's any chance at all that she'd pay the insurance if you let her use the car? YOU will be paying the insurance. There are so many reasons NOT to give her the car--her irresponsibility, her mother's irresponsibility (who do you think will be driving your car once Mom's new car gets repo'd?), the fact that teens have a very high incidence of accidents. And frankly, this is just one person's opinion, mind you--NO TEEN should EVER be given a car. If they want to be adults, then they need to learn how adults behave and EARN the money for the car and the insurance. It's a shame that you've promised her a car, and purchased it. You're in a very difficult position here, now. No--you won't be teaching her responsibility by giving her a car--just the opposite. And who's going to keep an eye on her, making sure she uses the car appropriately? I doubt her mom is going to worry about her following the rules for teen drivers (curfews, passenger limits, etc). Just seems odd to me, that she wants this car so badly, but hasn't bothered to get a license yet? Guess she's going to be one of those drivers you see on the TV court shows every day of the week--who haven't got a license, who get a friend or family member to get them a car and register and insure it in their name, and who then go out and drive carelessly. They're generally on the court shows because they've had an accident and feel that since the car isn't in their name, they don't have to take the responsibility for the financial consequences.
