Strelitzia reginae needing pruning

I have a Strelitzia reginae (in ground) which is fast approaching 20 feet. It is overwhelming it's location and getting ugly.

It has been in it's present location for about 6 years and is blooming like crazy. Unfortunately, the size of the bases (2) are very large and the upper stalks are frayed and brown tipped. Just trimming the lower stalks doesn't help any more.......

If I chop it down to ground level, will it come back?

Any help will be appreciated.............
