It might work

I've just had the thought to grow garlic chives around my roses to keep the possums and wallabies away.

I'm pretty sure they don't like to nibble on this easy to grow herb, which incidently I also find too strong for culinary use.

These chives/bulbs make quite a large bush of fine strappy leaves which wouldn't look out of place as a border around the beds and all summer they have sweet mauve/pink flowers on long stalks that the bees love.

If you're thinking it sounds abit desperate, you might be right. Anyone tried this sort of thing to keep pests out of the rose beds?

Bye for now
