Yes, nice looking frangipany, pity they all suffer from the 'Rust' now-a-days. I now only grow the resistant variety, Plumera podica; white flower, 'hammer-head' leaf, unfortunatey no scent.

That Podica is very pretty isn't it? I was reading a bit about it and they said it was good for a hedge, too. hmmmmmmm... I may have a spot for a couple of those. Did you see that you can get it in a pink shade too?

I am so glad that you loved your stuff! I had so much fun collecting for this swap the last so many months, and now that it is over, I feel sad! Oh well, I will have to get my fix looking for tomato seeds! I hate how the stores and tv bring on Christmas so early, like the after Labor Day, and then as soon as it is 11:59 pm on Christmas night, everything just ends and there are no more Christmas movies on tv, the radio stops playing Christmas music, you see Valetines Day stuff out on the 26th, and that is depressing. They rush it here so fast, why can't they atleast hold on to the Christmas celebration atleast until New Year's. Anyway, my tree is staying up for a while! From Donna I got! Red Gold Winter Squash, very interesting! Queensdland Blue, Awesome! Sarah Black Tomato ( this tomato is like a "sexy looking one!) Morado Tomato(another black I have been waiting to try! Mayflower Bean (mmmm, sounds yummy) serpente di sicilia edible gourd ( I love Italian seeds!) Pionsett Cuke (almost like pointsettia) snowball cauli, we think alike Black Beauty eggplant, great for my eggplant parm! Evergreen Tomato, another I did not have enough to save for myself Burpees Jubilee Tomato, a nice orange one! Marina di Chioggia pumpkin (anything from Chioggia Italy is always great!) Snowbird Pea (yummy!) Listada Di Gandia (another great Italian seed) Blackberry Lily ( hmm, have to check this one out) Browns Jubilee ( now I have 2 jubilees to compare together) 2 neat ornaments on my tree! a big hearsheys bar that hubby attacked!and now he thinks my seed people are "cool" because of Donnas chocolate bar! an awesome bag of earthworm tea mix and some fertilizing pellets!!! Thanks soo much Donna ! Great mixed bag! Ok, from Nancy I got: Blue Jade Baby Corn (cant wait to try this!) Christmas Lima ( Soooo glad she got me this because I orginally bought some for myself too, then since I had 2 partners I gave my seeds to a partner, so now I have them againfrom Nancy! yeah!) Queen\and Blue Squash cool! Traviata Endive (needed some endive Fava Bean ( want to plant these since they are so hard to find fresh) Orange Master Pomagranite (a very rare and interesting one I want to plant! Cannelli Beans (my favorite dry bean, love my pasta fagiolla!) Mrs. Burns Lemon Basil, awesome! Pesto Basil ( which I make a ton of) lINTZ cHOCOLATE baR YUM! A bag of Seed Savers Exchange runner Cannellinni beans to cook, mmmmmmm! Like I said, my favorite bean, do you think I could save a few to plant? Would that work? Christmas Grapes Tomato, another I gave all mine away and had none left! Black Plum Paste! I cannot wait to make black tomato sauce! Rossa di Chioggia Radichio, probably my faovite! If you get a chance, take a look at how beautiful this one is on Pinetree garden seeds site! Thanks soo much Nancy! AWESOME seeds! Ok, I know I probably forgot a few to mention of each of you too, so many seeds! It was so cool to have 2 partners!!!!! BTW, did I give you guys the Snowflake pea? I also gave you guys the same amount of stuff, while trying to give you each your own wish list stuff too, I really hope you liked everything! This was so fun! I wish it was Christmas time all the time! Do you guys mind doing something like this for Christmas in July? I think that would be neat! Merry Christmas to everyone! And do not mind my sloppy spelling in this post! Christy

I'll look for this book, thanks for the recommendation! Doreen Tovey wrote many great, humorous books about cats and donkeys, Marilyn you would love them, they are great fun to read if you can find them. "Cats in the Belfry" is my favorite one. Also, Margaret Stanger wrote "That Quail, Robert", another excellent book, it's not too long but will make you want a quail, I guarantee it. I would check Amazon and ebay for these.

Loving all the pics ! They're all adorable =) To aswer the initial question, I could put up a sign saying "It's really the dogs house..... we just pay the mortgage" LOL .We have 5 furry kids . the 2 yorkies sleep in bed with me and the big guys live inside ,roam free , but are not alowed on the furniture (for obvious reasons) Franny ,I have 3 Newfie monsters too ! I received 3 siblings last July, plan was to keep 1 but we ended up adopting all 3 of them , 2 boys and a girl .... at 2-3 months .. at about 9-10 months ... Sorry for the crappy pics, killed my cam. And to answer your question as to decorating around dogs , yes ! These are my permanent residents but we do rescues so there's always visitors. Floors were picked acordingly and furniture , at least in the family room will be an indoor/outdoor fabric . I'm leaving adequate spaces between furniture for the big guys , etc ...Tell me ,do your dogs sleep on their beds ? Mine insist on sleeping on the floor , even when it's cold .And right now that the weather is getting hot , I have to beg the 2 boys to come inside and not just sleep on the grass ! V

Hi annie. No, a pink form! I didn't know there was a one; I must do a 'Google' on it - gees, I reckon that'd be a lovely looking 'frangipinny'. Pity, you know, it doesn't have a scent. As for a hedge, ummm, I dunno about that either, I reckon your shears-cum-secutuers (excuse spelling) might get a little clogged up with white sap before you got too far with trimming it.
Yes, it is pretty, and, where I am in the almost sub-tropics, it is never without a flower - heaps in the warmer months, a few in the cooler. Like all frangipanies, it grows readily from cuttings.

Hi annie.
I didn't realise they have crossed Plumera podica with p. obtusifolia and named it Plumeria "Puditusa"! I just 'googled' it. Thank you for that. I'd love to get one or two of them particularly if they are immune to the 'rust' fungus that has infected the obtusifolias. Have you any info on that? I must research it and if they are immune I'll try and buy one or two by email. No one around here (NSW., Northern Rivers) sells them.

Sorry, inga007 I meant, my apologies, inga. And annie. (Dear me, I'm getting old!)
Ladies, I contacted the growers who have propagated the podica x obtusifolia hybrid and they have them available. I'll copy and paste their response here. Seems they don't come cheap though.
'"Puditusa" is a rust free hybrid. Pudica, as a species has no perfume,
however a cross was done a few years ago that developed one with a perfume
and we should release it in a year or so.'
That's from 'The Frangipanny Farm' in North Queensland. Just 'Google it in.
Rustfree! That makes even paying a bit more for one worthwhile. They look gorgeous on the grower's site. I think I might invest. I think they do mail orders.
regards
Bill

having a bit of trouble with working out which site you mean. I've found a frangipani farm at the Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast.
You don't mean Sacred Gardens at Mt Garnet, do you? that's up near Cairns.
there's http://www.frangipanifarm.net/ at the Gold Coast and http://www.frangipanifarm.com.au/index.htm at the Sunshine Coast and then http://www.sacredgardenfrangipanis.com/index.php which is north of Cairns.

Yes, sorry, annie, I should have posted the link(s). That was the main one: http://www.sacredgardenfrangipanis.com/index.php. I spent a few hours on them until my eyes went funny last night. I found there wasn't a comprehensive amount of information provided, you see I'd only be interested to obtain 'rust' free (rustproof) ones. And the prices of the hybrids - between podica ond obtusafolia, the only ones I could find they say are rust free - are all a bit pricey! They also offer seeds, 10, 20, at reasonable prices but don't say what variety they're from. I'm wondering if and when they'll produce enough to supply the trade - nurseries, etc., - with stock. Anyway, I haven't given up, will do a bit more (Google) research before I decide.
