What a treat on a cold winter day! I have never seen any of these roses "for real". What an intriguingly lovely HP. Do you recall any scent? And that Hugh Dickson! Yummy! I am not Joe but yes, Agnes is a rugosa. I think it was either Paul or John who posted her here years ago and she was so beautiful, just took my breath away. Oh, to be able to grow rugosas without the associated problems of growing roses in Bugville located only a few feet away from Fungusville.

Thanks for the link :) I don't know what it is about the garden I'm in now (been in the house 2 years, only started to seriously garden in it this spring)but it has been a blessing of health in comparison to where I used to live, only a few miles away. I have not had to spray for pests or disease yet. Call me shocked. One bush, has a bit of blackspot, but so little that I'm keeping my eye on it instead of rushing to do something about it since it isn't near any other roses. All the rest, not a thing. Not an aphid, not a thrip, only saw one Japanese Beetle so far - flicked it off and that was that. And it isn't like I've been obsessively fertilizing either. Good air circulation? Better sun? Did I pick better varieties for where I am now? I have no idea. I am so far from being an expert but I'm quite pleased with the way it's turned out this year. BTW - I'm in sort of North Jersey if that matters, not extremely, just barely out of Central is more like it. Union county.

Shane-it is 'to each their own'.There are some wonderful people in the forum and I really enjoyed their company and input.
I am sure the forum would have been a great success if it had been started by anyone other than the present owner.
If you are a male you will probably be okay-blatant misogyny means women are tolerated only to a certain degree.
The above statements are my opinion only-take it as you find it.
I had all my rose scans in the database there but withdrew them in protest at what I considered an underhanded nasty act by the webmaster.
The webmaster then banned me.
I had the option of returning if I was a good little girl but I declined.
I have records of what transpired but will not make them public.

I agree with Sandie - there are some great people on the Forum and some terrific advice/discussions to be had.
Just take from it what you enjoy. Anything else can be ignored/castigated.

Meryl, thanks as well. Good advice for all of us i think. Take what you want from the forums,as well as giving to them.
